TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

If nothing else, we are learning some stuff about my eggs

that might prove helpful in the future.

U/S showed a ton of follicles, but the biggest one (the one that presumably would be ovulated this cycle) is measuring small, even with the drugs.

RE is excited, because this is validating her theory that I ovulate early, but I ovulate eggs that are not nearly mature enough. Thus, the genetic material in them is not...I'm gonna say top quality, because I didn't understand what she was saying exactly. I think that was the general idea.

She is encouraged because if we can keep my estrogen levels under control with the meds, and keep the egg maturing and growing before we trigger, it MIGHT make a difference in the outcome.

Of course, if all these follicles develop and might release, we can't attempt to concieve (not looking for an octomom over here). However, it makes us an awesome candidate for PGD IVF, and might help us get in the study. Because it's something she thinks the study researchers might really want to observe and learn about.

Anyway, that was long. But I feel like even if we have to cancel this cycle because of the number of follicles, we are gaining some really important insights into what the fvck is wrong with me.

(I hope this all made sense, as usual I have too much info in my brain that I need to think about and puzzle on for a bit)

Re: If nothing else, we are learning some stuff about my eggs

  • Sounds like good news either way!! I mean, not good good, but you know, good as a relative measure. Good as in progress.

  • That makes sense. It's crazy to think of everything that goes on with our bodies.

I *really* hope everything will work out this cycle. (((hugs)))

  • I'm so excited (I seriously just typed sexcited. I need to get laid) for you!!!

I am so glad that they seem to be making progress on figuring out what's going on with you :)

    Fingers crossed for this cycle!

  • That all totally makes sense.  You would be an ideal candidate for IVF using Lupron because Lupron supresses your ovulation and lets your eggs continue to grow nice and big.  It literally prevents you from releasing eggs too early which would likely help with your issue!!  YAY for good information and progress in the right direction!

  • I think that is awesome information to have!  At least it gives you some answers and there are options for you.  Do you think you will go ahead with the IVF study soon?  I'm glad you found this out.

  • See? I want you to have a baby so badly that I posted twice!

BFP #million -another girl for us! EDD - 05-08-15 (but will come early)

  • From a purely biological point of view, that makes perfect sense about the eggs not being "ripe" enough. I don't think it would be a DNA problem, so much as a cellular division problem, but either way it's great that you might be figuring out what keeps going wrong.

I want you to have a baby. So much. Probably even as much as I want *me* to have one.

    Good luck!
