Kindle or Nook???

Anyone have either of these?  What do you like/dislike?

My bday is next month and I've been thinking of getting one of these.  Just wondering if they are pretty much the same... Thanks!

  • I don't have one (only because I'm an old fashioned girl and I like the feel of a book in my hands..) but my best friend got one recently and she did TONS of research before deciding on the Nook. The reason she chose the Nook is because she felt a.) it was easier to read because the graphics are better, b.) you can lend books out to other Nook users for a two week period - that feature is not available on the Kindle, and c.) all the reviews she read indicated that the Nook had more books available.

  • Thanks!  Yeah, I really like the feel of books too, but lately I don't have time to read books or magazines at home.  I figured with the Kindle or Nook, I could carry both but not have a huge bag filled iwth magazines and a book.  Anyway, it's just an idea.  DH will start asking me soon what I want for my bday and I can never think of anything.

I heart the iPad, but isn't it twice as much as the Nook/Kindle?  Besides, I have an iPhone and am planning on upgrading to the iPhone 4...

  • I don't know anything about the nook but I have the Amazon Kindle and love it. DH got it for my birthday last year and I was wondering if he was nuts cause I'm also a paper girl, but a few books later and I love my Kindle. I think the best feature as compared to paper books is that the second you want to read something you can get it. The Amazon version comes with 3G included so I get all my downloads free whenever I want one. It's awesome when you're reading a series if you weren't sure about getting them all at once. It's also very comfortable to read and you can carry lots of books with you everywhere without the weight. The only thing I wish it had was a backlight so I could read at night when my LO doesn't want to sleep.

Why don't you download the Kindle for iphone app?  It's free.  You just pay for the books you get, and then if you later get a full size kindle you can sync them.
