A friend of mine is about 14 weeks pg with her first and plans on delivering at AABC, but doesn't have a doula yet. I know that couple of you have loved yours - recs please? Thanks!
I delivered my first in the hospital and hired Karina Bolger as my doula. I love her and she was terrific. Her email is kbolger at austin. rr.com. I had my 2nd at AABC and honestly didn't need a doula since the midwives are so much more hands on than the staff at the hospital. Maybe if it was my first baby I would have felt different but that's my $.02.
Good luck to her!
We're using Shelley Scotka currently. She was highly recommended by my close friend who had a great experience. We've found her to be very in tune with our needs and are excited to be going through the process with her! www.shelleyscotka.com
Amanda Wyszkowski is our doula. I have not delivered yet, but I'm very happy with the support I've received from her so far, just in answering questions and also helping me and my husband deal with a little meltdown I had about giving birth. I'm happy to update with more detail once I deliver. Her website is:

I used Emily Bessey. https://www.emilybessey.com/ I really liked her. She was exactly what I needed when I needed help focusing duirng my labor. She is very friendly and spends time getting to know you so she can provide you the best support during labor.

Alice Duffy is a great prenatal yoga instructor, I think partly b/c of her work as a doula:
