Could use some help please - OB's in Toronto

Hi ladies.

I'm originally from Toronto, however my husband is military. Two years ago we were post to the Embassy in Moscow, Russia...fast forward to now, I'm 15 weeks pregnant and we have decided that we do not want to have the baby here, but instead fly back to T.O.

I would really like to deliver at Mount Sinai as it is close to downtown and I'll probably be staying in that area. I need recommendations on OBs that deliver there if possible.

Any information you could provide would be appreciated.

    I delivered at Sunnybrook (Women's College) so not really sure but maybe try phoning Mount Sinai? They probably have a section on their website with a phone number.

    Sorry I'm catching this post a bit late, so you may have already sorted this out.

     

    You need a referral sent from a primary care practitioner (i.e. a family doctor) to get in to see an Obstetrician.  I'm sure your GP can suggest OBs at Mount Sinai.  Since you were already 15 weeks, that is a bit late - the downtown OBs especially fill their quotas early, so you may have difficulty getting in to see one.  I was referred at 12 weeks to Women's College and I barely managed to get squeezed in (and I'm a physician myself).  Good luck, though!

    This may also be a bit late ... I started my pregnancy in Mexico (Husband's job) I returned home at 20 weeks - and had a super hard time finding an OB here in TO.  I found Dr. Roberta Mackenzie ... now she doesn't deliver at Mt. Sinai, but at Toronto East General ... but she just started her own practice in March, and is looking for new patients - and you do not need a referral from your Dr. (as I didn't have one from before I moved to Mexico) She is a lovely Doctor, very easy to have conversations with.  If you'd like her number - just ask and I will get it to you.

    Did you end up finding someone?  It is super hard getting an o/b in Toronto and you really do need a referral.  I have a g/f who had her baby at Mount Sinai so I can ask her if you like...

     Women's College hospital is downtown and is the best of the best!!!! If you can get in there do it!!!
