How is it that so many of you have been able to get US already? With my first pregnancy they only ever offered one at 20 weeks. After that, they thought there was problems so had a few Level 2 US. Everything turned out fine.
I am 5weeks 2 days and they wont even see me until 10-12 weeks.
Re: Ultrasounds
Hi! I am 8 weeks and my doctor will not see me until I am 10 weeks also, and that is for medical paperwork. Then we will get another appoinntment to measure and exam and then if it does not measure up it we would get one but otherwise just at 20 weeks. I was really hoping for one sooer to reasssure that everything is okay!
A lot of ladies who have had problems before in their pregnancy and with a RE will be montiored more.
My doctor will do my first ultrasound and check for heartbeat at 10 weeks. This is also the first time I will be seeing her since my BFP.
I've been seeing an RE for IF issues, so they end up monitoring you more closely when you actually do get pregnant. It's both a blessing and a curse. It's awesome to get reassured through blood work and early u/s, but it can also be incredibly nerve wracking waiting for that phone call or for that next u/s and hoping you see more of the baby the next time around.
No worries, what you're doing is normal!

I am just with an OB and I will have about 6+ u/s, but that is because I am high risk.
As long as everything looks fine and healthy the 20 week u/s should be the only one you absolutely need. Though most doctors now do an early u/s to date the pregnancy since you get better measurements early on.
I agree with the others that it's probably because of IVF, IUI, or other issues. With my first, I had ultrasounds every 2 weeks for the first trimester because my progesterone level was very low. After that, I had one at around 20 weeks where they checked many things and then I believe one at 36 weeks.
This time, my body is working better and I've had no issues. I initially had blood drawn to check my progesterone (right after I called to tell the office was pregnant). Today was my first appointment. I met with the doc, she answered my questions, did a pap, and drew blood to check things like blood cell count, HPV, etc. I was also told that my next appointment at 10 weeks she would check for the heartbeat with the doppler, but if she couldn't hear it, I would get an ultrasound. I probably won't have an ultrasound until around 20 weeks if everything appears healthy.
Thanks ladies!
As much as I would love to have an u/s now....i have no reason to believe that I am high risk. I am over 35 so that could raise a flag but the scheduler at the clinic never mentioned a thing. My OB is out on maternity leave right now anyway.
It took us over 16 months to get pg but we had not turned to any other forms of help. I had been charting my temps for quite some time, so honestly, I pretty much know the exact day I got pregnant. We were just beginning to talk about having some tests run when I got my BFP.
I will pray that everything is normal and fine and I will see my OB in 3 1/2 weeks. Oh seriously...can I wait that long?
I'm only (based on my LMP) 7 weeks and 5 days, but I had an ultrasound at 4 weeks and 3 days when my OB had me come in to see him due to abdominal and pelvic pain just to confirm that there was a gestational sac visible in my uterus, and he had me return last Wednesday to try and date the pregnancy to see if my due date needs to be adjusted. He typically sees patients at 7 weeks. I'm returning to see him on Monday because he couldn't detect a fetal heart tone on Wednesday, so we're hoping for good news then.
If it weren't for the pain I had early on, I would have only had the one ultrasound.
