My mother and her youngest two brothers were all born in France when my grandfather was stationed there at the time, so my grandmother gave them all French names. My mom is the youngest and they moved back here when she was 3, so I imagine this was a bit difficult for her growing up, especially considering how people mispronounce it now that it is used in the states. Not too strange, but definitely not the norm for their age group here in the US.
Jaques
Philip (pronounced Phil-eep)
Chantal (pronounced Shan-taul sh sound as in Shhh...)
We have some really unique names in my family. Many of these names sound much better in French than in English.

Sheila - sister
Conrad- brother
Tahnee- cousin
