TTC after 35

told my brother. . . (long)

So, we're (hopefully) doing an IUI cycle at the end of this month.  I had to ask the nurses not to call in my drug order because one of my brothers in the senior pharmacist at the pharmacy.  He works at a pharmacy that does only fertility meds.  The insurance company will only pay for the meds if i get them there.

I don't mind, I just wanted to tell him myself, so that he didn't just come across my name and find out that way.  He is an awesome little brother (all three of my little brothers are great and we're all really close).

He also just had a baby a few months ago, and I wanted to make sure he knew that I love, love, love my nephew and I haven't been anything but happy for them since the moment they announced they were pregnant.

I told him that nobody else in the family knew and that is the way I wanted to keep it.  I know that he would never tell anyone, I just needed to say it to make myself feel better.  His wife is also a pharmacist (she works with children who get organ transplants), so they both understand everything.

It will be great to have him to call if I have any questions about the meds or anything, and it is great to have a family member who knows more than I do - so I don't have to explain what things are or what things mean.

So, I called the nurses today and told them to order away.  I can't believe we are finally moving forward!

  • that's great that you are able to get such wonderful support from your brother. i was the same way in not telling family for a very long time. the only person that knew a bit of it was my sister and that was because we are very close and i knew i could trust her. even if you don't go to that person all the time to vent/share, it's still a comfort knowing they are there if you need it.

best of luck with the IUI.

  • You're on your way!!!   Lotsa luck...keeping fingers crossed for you!
