Mamas who've had Gall Bladder surgery

Quick question.  Since your gall bladder was removed, do you still have pain in the upper right abdomen?  I'm trying to figure out if my pain is from my gall bladder area, it was removed a month ago, or if its from my liver....which I was hospitalized for right after I had my gall bladder out.

I had my gall bladder removed almost 2 months ago. Sometimes my stomach hurts if I eat the wrong foods (ex: pizza, red meat, etc...) but not necessarily the upper right area.  You might want to keep an eye on this issue.

  • I had mine out last Feb and didn't have any pain after.  If it keeps up, you may want to call your doctor just to have it checked.  I hope you feel better soon!

  • I had mine out in early May. For about a month, and even still sometimes, I get a pain where it was, and I freak out(small panic attack). The gallbladder attacks I had were terrible, and my surgeon said that whenever I had pain there, my body has muscle memory, and it can feel like an attack.

But, it wasn't nearly as severe as a real attack. You might call your Dr just to be safe? If it's your liver again, you don't want to wait too long.

    Good luck!!!

  • Yep. I had pain for a good 6 months. They kept checking to make sure my bile duct and liver were okay. Eventually it went away. My doc thinks my pain might have lasted so long because I was 23 weeks when I had my surgery and my growing belly didn't help w/the tenderness and pain.
  • No pain just running to the bathroom after any food that is remotely greasy!

  • No pain, but certain foods can cause pain.  I also had horrible heart burn while pg that like a gall bladder attack.

    yeah, and this!

  • No pain, but I would get twinges now and again.  And eating the "wrong" foods would send me to the bathroom...
