Simple middle name for Alexandra? + nickname clicky

XP from the Baby Names board.

We're currently leaning toward the name Alexandra for our little girl. My mom's name is Sandra, so this would honor her in a way.

Our last name is uncommon, two syllables, and starts with a hard C (if you want an example, it's similar in sound to Caufield - like the main character in the book The Catcher in the Rye), so I'd like to use a very simple, one-syllable middle name.

Suggestions? I don't like Grace, Rose, or Jade - just an FYI :-)

Also, we're into using nicknames, so below is a poll about that.  Thanks![Poll]

Re: Simple middle name for Alexandra? + nickname clicky

  • Alexandra Jayne (that's my MN lol)

    Alexandra Joy

Alexandra Kate (I love Kate as a middle name)

p.s.- I like the "e" on Lexie because it gives it a sense of completion. I'm a little weird like that. Names that end in "i" just seem to be kind of hanging there in space. (No offense if you have a name that ends this way!)

  • I am on the same page as Schick!  My first thoughts were Jane, Kate, or Anne.
  • The name that popped into my head right off the bat was Anne which a lot of PP put.

Also, I like Lexi with no e bc my name ends with an i not an ie lol

  • Mae/May - that's on my list for middle names.

This is what we are using, it's nice and simple.  I also really like Kate with her first name.

  • What about Belle? It would make her initials ABC but if you don't mind that... I think it's cute.

  • I like Kate a lot. Do you think the Kate "Caufield" combo is too abrupt and jolty?

I like Lane, too. That's pretty.

I've pitched Neve to DH.  Like Neve Campbell.  My grandma's name is Genevieve, which he hates, and Neve is my way of shortening it for a middle name.  But he still won't go for it.  Maybe I'll keep pushing - it's "just" a middle name...lol.

I'm with the others about Jane and Kate. Not sure about Anne thoughwith Alexandra, having two A names together.

    Mum to W (4) and M (nearly 2)
  • My 1st name is Alexa and have always been called Lexi.  My mom spelled it Lexie and I hated it so she let me take the e off when I pretty young.  Hope this helps.
  • I also like Lee (or Leigh) for a middle name on girls.

  • I prefer Lexie with an e, it looks nicer. and as for a MN how about:

    Alexandra Marie

    Alexandra Kate

    Alexandra Paige

hmm not sure that I really like any of those now that I typed them, but maybe you do.
