TMI lube question

So everyone says to use lots of lube for post-partum sex. I feel dry all the time though (is this due to decreased estrogen b/c I'm bf'ing?). What types of lube have you found to be helpful? Has anyone tried those k-y liquibeads that are marketed for menopausal women? I feel like I need something for daily use and then something really powerful for sexy time. thanks. • Yes the dryness is from breast feeding.  Never tried the liquibeads but I found the KY oil worked better than the gel when it came to sexy time Wink

  • I just went and looked because I didn't remember. LOL... We used KY Sensitive Jelly and it worked well. I bet the liquibeads would work well for you if you need something daily.

  • I have been using a silicone-based lube.  It is pretty good, but nothing is as good as the real thing.

Let me also say, you seriously have time to have sex? I am SO impressed.

ditto!   I was thinking the same thing!

Mind you, we're only a week or so into getting our sex life back, but we're using Astroglide and it is working pretty well for us.

Brought to you by IVF, ICSI, limited fert, and oocyte cryopreservation.
    Because we're fancy like that.

we've done it once, to celebrate their 3 month birthday. let's just say I'm planning ahead...as soon as my IUD follow-up appt assures me that all is well in there, our "plan" is to make time for it after they go to bed - it's our motivator for having a good bedtime routine for them!

  • Sorry to make you feel less anonymous, but I am so glad you asked this. I was standing in the lube aisle the other day overwhelmed by choices and ended up leaving. Now I just need to find time to go back to the store with baby in tow, to buy some lube! Oh yea and find time to actually have sex too!! Wink

I'm thinking about ordering some online so I don't have to go to the store. I feel like I'm 16 years old or something.

  • I had SUCH a problem with dryness that we basically couldn't do that while I was nursing.  Even with tons and tons of help.  It was just awful.  But the good news is that once I weaned, everything was back (and then some).  It's just another thing about breastfeeding that nobody ever warns you about!
