My DD is very afraid of the vacuum and hair dryer. She will back herself into a corner and shake and cry while it is on. Does or had anyone else have this issue?
We had that issue with the vacuum, but thankfully she has started to be ok with it. It just took time, and I let her play with it, she could touch it, and I had her help me vacuum. She still gets upset when she sees me taking it out but then she is ok.

My DS is afraid of both too. It's weird b/c when he was younger he loved the vacuum. I could vacuum right around him on his playmat and he didn't care. But now it really bothers him, even the toy vacuums at daycare freak him out. I hope he'll get over it at some point. I think it is pretty normal!
The vacuum never seemed to bother DS until this weekend. Previously, I could vacuum all around him and it didn't phase him, but this weekend when I was vacuuming the room he was in, he was definitely afraid of it. I tried to make a game out of it so he would think it was something fun and not something just loud and scary.
She never minded it as a baby but it seemed to have started around one. I'm sure it's normal and I try to get her to "play" with it but she won't even go near it. If she even see's it out she won't go into the room that it's in. I might try to get her a toy vacuum to see if that helps. Wish me luck
Re: Anyone's LO afraid of the hair dryer or vacuum??
Neither one! But that is probably bc I was the crazy mom that dried her tushy with a blow dryer since day one.
She seems to like the vacuum as well. Maybe it is just loud noises in general that bother her?
