Texas Babies

New to San Antonio!

Hi everyone, my husband, baby and I moved to SA about a month ago and we're still getting settled. I just found this board but normally I'm on Parenting after 35. I wanted some rec's on pediatricians in the area. We live close to Alamo Heights so something around there would be nice.

I hope I can join you ladies, we are here due to my DH's new job and we came from West Palm Beach, FL, where we lived for 5 years. We live close to Brackenridge Park, so I walk there almost every day and LO loves it! I'm sure it will be better when the weather cools down. Right now I'm a SAHM but my background is in marketing and graphic design. I will probably find a part-time job soon, it's nice to be with the baby all day but I also need the xtra income and mental stimulation.

Any pediatrician rec's would be great. TIA!!

Me: 44 DH: 42. DS born healthy at 40 weeks 8/24/09. TTC since then with no luck or ART. Surprise BFP 8/6/14... MMC @ 8 weeks 4 days... Miss you everyday sweet baby angel.

  • Hi!  I just moved here a week ago with my little girl.  The pedi I will take her to is ABCD pediatrics, Dr. Scholsberg (sp?).  He was recommended to me by a family friend that is a nurse for a pediatric cardiologist.  It is going to be a 15 minute or so drive, but I am from Dallas so it's not a big deal to me.  We live behind the Quarry.  Let me know if you would like to meet for lunch sometime.
Years of trying and treatment, IVF#1 brought us our darling C!

Hi and thanks, I would love to! Are you free during the week, we could meet for lunch in Central Market or something like that. Or in Quarry Market. You can send me a private message if you like Smile

  • Welcome! We live in Alamo Heights as well.  I have 2 boys - ages 3.5 and 2.  If I were you, I'd go to Dr. Hall.  His office is on Broadway, in the same complex as the Little Gym of Alamo Heights.  We used to go to Dr. Cook who shared an office with Dr. Hall, so we'd see Dr. Hall when the Cooks were out.  The Cooks recently retired, and we now see Dr. Leiloglou.  He's at 281 and Thousand Oaks which isn't as convenient, but he's married to DH's cousin so we like the family connection.  :-)

BUT, if it weren't for that, we'd definitely see Dr. Hall as he's awesome and much more convenient!

  • My pedi is also in the Med Center and so far I really like him.

    Welcome to San Antonio!

  • I would second the recommendation for Dr. Hall. Lots of people in the AH area use him and love him. Welcome to SA!
  • I wanted to go to Dr. Hall but he's not accepting new patients, I guess he's maxed out! I'm going to try his partner, Dr. Cevey. She's younger but graduated from the same university as me, Washington U in St. Louis, MO. Let's see what happens! Thanks for the recs!

  • the "new to San Antonio" prompted me to respond.  I usually spend most of my time on BBC, but just started getting back on these boards...I, too, just moved to SA a month ago for my husband's new job.  We came from the Dallas/Ft Worth area where we lived for the past 10 years.  Our daughter, Ellie, is 11 weeks old today, and I am a SAHM and not working for the first time ever in my life...big adjustment, but feel very fortunate to get this time with LO.  My professional background is in marketing.

We don't live in Alamo Heights, but looked there.  We live near 1604 and Kyle Seale Pkwy, but would love the chance to meet up with other moms who are new to the area.
