Some friends of ours who have been through 5 IVFs, stopped trying for a few years and decided to give it one more try is now 28 weeks pregnant with twins (a boy and a girl)!
Everyone in their family has been waiting for this moment forever and couldn't be happier so needless to say her registry is done.
I am trying to think of stuff that to get her that you wouldn't think of until after you get home. I got her a mesh bag for her to wash socks in and that is it (so pathetic). I did send picky sticky when they announced the sex but I want to give something more.
I'm digging through Etsy, but if any of you have some cute ideas or things that you found helpful after you got home with your LO but would have never thought of it before hand let me know. I could use your help.
I wanted to mention also that I thought about putting the book Happiest Baby on the Block in the mesh bag (it totally changed our lives and doubled A-man's sleep). But I'm not sure if they are readers or how they would take it...so...
Re: Alright girls, I need gift idea help
What about the stickers with the months on it for the onsies? I know it is kind of down the road, but I love those stickers.
Maybe the mom might enjoy a massage and an offer for you to baby sit for her to go to it.
Sorry this isn't very creative but diapers and wipes always come in handy. You could do a diapering theme and include diaper rash ointment and things like that.
I was also surprised at how many bibs and burp cloths we went through in a day. It seemed like I never had enough of those.
I really liked my "Itzbeen" timers for the newborn phase. They come in pink & blue so you could get one of each! I can imagine that this is almost a must-have with twins!
Also, anything Earth Mama Angel Baby I love.
HTH!!!
You are too funny, Samantha!
I love how you have been hangin' out over here lately...I had missed you!
Our parents gave us a "birthbasket". A basket full of presents which one per day for the first week. Usually there are little notes with the presents. Presents can be i.e.: a journal for mommy/daddy to write in, swaddling blanket, newborn nose spray for if the baby has a stuffy nose, just cute stuff like that.
We also got a diaper cake (https://www.samsamkinderkleding.nl/data/4/28/luiertaart.jpg) which mainly is just a cake shaped tower made of diapers. My parents used #2 diapers, since they new we had enough newborn diapers.
HTH!
Thanks for all the ideas!
I think the Itsbeen would be great esp. b/c she plans on BFing. I also think I'm going to fill the mesh bag with different size batteries we went through so many with one child. I can imagine how many they will need with two.
Shannon, she does have burp clothes still on her registry and like you said not exciting but VERY necessary.
They did get a lot of twin oneies at the shower, so I think I'll go with a diaper cake. I have a friend I'll have teach me.
One of my favorite gifts was a gift certificate to get pictures done!
Too bad the kiddie kandids at BRU closed down for a while...

Ditto the Itsbeen and the gc for baby pics!
What I REALLY could have used was someone to come help me clean & do laundry. FI had to go back to work 2 days after we came home from the hospital and I was SO anemic I could barely sit up.
I also really wanted some of those socks that look like little shoes/ballet slippers. BRU & Target sell them and I think the brand name is
