Tracie Zinda CPR

So I just wanted to share my experience with her.

In February I was sent a newsletter from Due Maternity store listing her CPR classes. I gave her a call and signed up for her mid-May class. She gave me an address over the phone to send my $80.00 check to, which I did. The check was never cashed, I never received any confirmation from her that she received it, nothing. Also, I wrote my email address and phone number on the check. Months went by with no word so I assumed the check got lost in the mail. I lost her contact information but I just figured I would take the class some other time.

In the middle of May all of a sudden the check got cashed. I'm an idiot for not canceling the check but I didn't think about it. I finally got the genius idea to give Due a call to see if they had her phone number and gave her a call. She just let me a voicemail explaining that she would neither refund my money or let me take the class now. She did however tell me that there is a class on Monday that she has openings in if I would like to resend her $80.00.

She and I both dropped the ball, and I'm not even wanting a refund, but I think it is horrible business practice to not provide the service that I paid for, especially when she has openings in her next class anyways.

Sorry for the vent but I am really frustrated and feel like I've been stolen from.

Re: Tracie Zinda CPR

  • Um, IMO, you have been stolen from.

A few questions that come to mind: Why would she have held onto your check that long before cashing? Were you informed of, or did you agree to some kind of cancellation policy where if you signed up for the class (therefore taking the spot of another potential customer) and were a no-show, you forfeited your fee?

I think that totally sucks that she isn't more willing to work with you this.

  • IMHO $80.00 is a rip off for a CPR course.

  • I have no idea why she held on to my check for that long, it's crazy! And I don't remember her saying anything about her cancellation policy, but it was in February that I talked to her, so I may have forgotten. But I certainly never received any paperwork explaining it or signed anything etc.

I am just in awe that I sent her this check in good faith and she is not even trying to meet me halfway.

And $80.00 seems like a rip off to me too, but I didn't know where else to go.

So lesson learned. I just wanted to warn any others who were considering taking her CPR class that she is definitely not an honest person.

  • Most cities offer them.  I know in Pflugerville and San Marcos the local fire department offers them at least once a month.

  • Thanks! I'll look into the fire department!
  • I would inform her that I was going to file a claim with the BBB (which you should do) and that I was going to find every website that I could possibly review her on and let everyone know what happened. She claims to be a businessperson and as such,  should have kept you in the know.

I would also call Due and let them know of your experience.

You're totally right! I will do that! Thanks for the advice.
