I feel like I have no chance to be pregnant. You know how fast the holidays go right? its halloween and then bam...new years!

I feel like this pregnancy will FLY by and I dont want it too! I want to enjoy the time with ds for a while.

anyone else feel the same? Does that make sense?

Screw the food - think about having to endure the holidays without wine.  I'll never survive the IL's this year.  May be feeling too sick to travel at Christmas.  Oh what a pity.

  • Yea, but I'm glad I'll be able to show off a nice bump during the holidays and will probably be so eager to meet the little one I'll be hoping it flies by.

  • the second pregnancy flies by anyway.  lightening speed.

I'm worried I'll gain too much weight over the holidays.

  • I feel the opposite! I have so little to do for this pregnancy that I don't know how I can wait 32 more weeks. Plus, once the baby is born, I can be home with DS and the baby and get more time together than I do now while working FT, so I can't wait for this pregnancy to zoom by!

OH! See I am the opposite. My MIL is Satan's mistress and thinks we should come to her every other year when she is the ONLY one that lives in another city/state. Since I will be huge, no FLYING.

Also, mommas brownies and coffee cake with no guilt, BRING IT.

lmao!!!!  So great you get out of that one! But what if she flies to you?

thats what my batshit crazy MIL did....I wanted to kill her!

  • I feel the exact same! The summer always flies by too quick for me, and the same with holidays. I'm worried it'll go by too quickly and I wont get enough time with dd to enjoy some more.

I already feel with all of the morning sickness that I am not spending enough quality time with her, and am concerned that I wont get enough before this baby is born. It makes me feel so guilty.

  • Before my BFP, my MIL was expecting me to fly cross country 3 times between mid-October and Christmas because DH will be deployed.  Now, I have an excuse to get out of it entirely.

No alcohol and inlaws was a scary thought to me at first too!  Christmas should be a great time this year, especially with the family ski trip for 4 days with the inlaws!  AHHHH!

  • Yes. I've been wanting this pregnancy to drag since it will most likely be the last one. I won't mind still being pregnant this time over the holidays though. I went home from the hospital last year after having DS via c-section the day before Christmas eve. Christmas eve and Christmas day were not fun running around days after surgery.

  • I am pg basically the exact same time frame I was with DS(due dates 9 days apart). I LOVED LOVED LOVED being pg for the holidays. I am so excited to do it again!

  • Me being super pregnant during the holidays = I don't have to spend 2 days in the kitchen Thanksgiving & Christmas cooking dinner for my entire family for the first time in 3 years!  Yay!

I totally agree.. but I am dreading dealing with my SIL w/o wine.  Maybe I can convince DH to stay home the year since we have our "own" family now.

    aaaah very good point!!

I was pregnant with my 2nd over the holidays and I couldn't fit any food! He was all up in my stomach hogging the space. All I wanted to do was pig out at Thanksgiving and Christmas!!!! Crying I'm guessing this season will be the same way.

  • I dread it but mostly b/c we are 10 hours from home .... and with a twin pregnany my Dr has already mentioned that we more than likely wont be allowed to travel .... =( so no holidays for us ....
  • I'm not going to be able to deal with my MIL sober.  I'm also hosting dinner for 15 at my house.  FML.

  • I'm torn.

I'm pissed I will be big pregnant for Black Friday ... I take that shiz seriously, lol.  And it won't be any fun not being able to drink ... although I will probably have a sip of champagne on NYE  :)

I'm kinda of excited about being pregnant for Christmas though.  We do every other Christmas with my parents (who live about 5 hours away), and I'm really looking forward to it this year.  Not sure how I feel about Winter maternity clothes though ...

  • I am excited to be pg over the holidays because I think time will fly by until baby arrives. However, I am also bummed because we most likly won't be able to make the 6+hour drive to family.Oh well at least it will be a restful holiday! :)

  • The thought doesn't really bother me. In fact, I kind of like it. It means I get to go home just after the holidays (I have to go back to the States to deliver around New Years) so I won't entirely miss out on winter even though I live in the middle of the freakin' desert and haven't seen a drop of rain since I got here.

Also, it means that the parents who were coming for Thanksgiving and Christmas have now put off their plans in favor of coming in the spring when LO is here. It will be awesome to have DH to myself for the holidays.

  • My son was born in August so this will definitely be a different experience.  I, like many of you, will have a difficult time tolerating my MIL without the booze.  Last summer she announced "Here comes fatso!" when I walked in.  She said she was only kidding when someone said it was kind of mean.  Who kids like that?  I was 9 months pregnant!  Ugh...

yeah, it'll be tough to go w/o hard cider in the fall, wine and beer and anything alcoholic at family gatherings over christmas and thanksgiving, BUT, i am going to love the distraction of christmas when i am starting to get big and uncomfortable.  and all the emotions/pregnancy hormones at christmas time will make things even more festive and exciting!

maybe....other shoppers will be sympathetic to your bump on black friday and let you ahead in lines??  now that would be worth it.
