So, this may be really strange, but I've developed a bit of anxiety that hypnobabies will work SO well for me that I won't know I'm in labor. I've been having a lot of BH contrax for several weeks. The last few days they've been increasing in intensity, but I've only had one that made me pause at all. I can tell when I'm contracting mostly by what I can feel on the outside, like how hard my uterus gets, but I don't feel much other than a little tightness/pressure inside and some general crampiness.
I've been telling myself I don't need to time contrax until I can't keep doing what I'm doing through them, but I'm starting to wonder if I should time them even if they're not very intense to me? Is it completely nuts to think hypnobabies will help me deal so well with the pressure that I won't feel pain? I don't want to jump at every BH, but I also don't want to have an accidental home birth...
Please reassure me! TIA.
Re: hypnobabies question
Hmmm...I was actually wondering the exact same thing. I have started and stopped early labor twice now in the last few days -- each time my contractions (confirmed as "real contractions," not just BH) progressed to as frequent as 4-5 minutes apart, VERY strong pressure, but not what I would consider pain. Both times labor and delivery said to come on in, but within hours the contractions tapered off, so I decided to wait it out.
I am a little nervous of the same thing -- that I am so deeply relaxed and am feeling very, very strong pressure, but nothing flooring...
This what my hypnobabies moms have reported as well. They 'knew' they were in labor, but were able to go about life as normal, as they got close, they knew they needed to be where ever they planned on delivering, instinctively and calmly.
I was the same way with my 1st HypnoBirth, I never felt a pressure wave, just back pressure and eventually I knew it was time.
Hang in there, trust yourself. You'll know
This sounds extremely reassuring, THANKS (sorry I am budding in OP).
I hope my labor progresses as smoothly as you have described. So far I love how calmed and relaxed I feel while listening to my CDs.
THANK YOU! I know I wasn't the OP, but since I had the same question and same uncertainties, I truly appreciate the responses from you ladies!
