Potty Training

Recommend your step stool & toilet trainer seat--Please!

I've decided to go the step stool/toiler trainer route vs. a potty seat, and looking for recs on brands you have used. There's quite a few options out there, so I'm curious as to which toilet trainer seat is comfortable for DCs to sit on.

I've heard nice things about the Baby Bjorn potty products, but thought I'd quiz you moms on your suggestions.

TIA! :)

  • we use the Baby Bjorn step stool and I also have the potty. DS likes both. I like the step stool because it isn't totally childish- it's white with black grippers. For the potty seat, I traded in my Pampers points to get the Diego one and it works just fine. I am thinking about getting a new toilet seat that has the child seat integrated into it. you fold down the adult seat and then a child can fold a smaller seat down on top of that. This way I won't be needing to store the potty seat next to the toilet or remove it entirely whenever I need to use the bathroom. HTH

  • We have the baby bjorn stool, potty seat, and the floor toilet. We love all 3. I really like both potties because when DS pees it actually goes in the potty. I haven't had any issues with pee anywhere but in the potty. This is a huge plus to me.
  • We have the Baby Bjorn step stool and toilet ring and I see no issues with it at all and DD trained on it just great. However, we picked up a (BRU brand) floor potty to see if that helped with DD pooping (it didn't yet) and have since just ended up putting it in the bathroom as well. It's helped when DH or I are using the toilet and DD needs to go. It is also usuable as a travel potty AND DD seems to enjoy having a choice between the big or little potty chair :) She enjoy dumping the little potty into the big one.

I personally do recommend training on the big potty first though (we didn't get the floor one until 4 or 5 days into potty training with the 3dpt method), it's been invaluable having DD not be afraid of big toilets. She choose the big toilet (w/insert) over her little potty 4x out of 5.
