I call my FIL Dad, but I call my MIL by her first name. Not sure why, maybe because I am super close with my mom and can't imagine calling anyone else Mom and my father passed years ago and was never really in my life anyway?
If I am talking about them my DH or one of my SIL/BILs I always say Mom & Dad.

I guess technically I call them Mother and Father, I just have to do so in Korean. And I'm not "allowed" too use the words for Mom and Dad, that is too disrespectful. I have to use the formal Mother and Father words.
I don't actually want to call them Mom and Dad so it's easier to do so in a different language.
Of course when MIL gets mad at me (and even when she's mad at DH she's mad at me because it's all my fault) I am instructed to call her Mrs. ___. All 3 of her children and their spouses have been "disowned" several times and receive this instruction.
Like pp I have taken to calling them Grandma and Grandpa when the kids are there, but I can't actually pronounce the Korean word for Grandpa, so that's a bit awkward too.
I wasn't doing this purposely, but I call FIL "Pops" or "Papa" and call MIL by her first name. Coincidentally enough, I love FIL and don't get along with MIL 90% of the time.
I call MIL by her first name. FIL and DH have the same name, so FIL is Big Phil. But that's what everyone calls him, even DH and his siblings.

My parents worked hard to earn the titles of Mom and Dad. There's no way that I'm going to give that connection to someone else. I'm super close to my step mom and I still call her Lynette.

In written correspondance, I typically call them "Mum & Pops"... if I'm talking to them in terms of Evelyn, it's Gran and Gramps. If I'm talking to them on the phone or in person, it's normally Gran and Gramps because Evelyn's usually with us when they call (they typically call just to watch her on webcam), or I'll call them by name.
I call my in laws by their first names. I really don't have the best relationship with them. On the other hand he doesnt call my parents mom or dad either. I guess it never occured to us.
Heck no. I can't stand my in-laws. Plus I have a terrific mother and father and could not imagine calling anyone else, no matter how wonderful they were, mom and dad.?
I never met FIL, as he died before we started dating. I call him DH's dad or your dad when I'm talking to DH. In their language, mother is Mama, easy enough. I usually call MIL Mama first name (though in their language Mama DH's name would be the proper way) or Nyanya (grandma) with DS.
ETA: H calls my mom Mama first name or Mom and my dad - I don't actually remember what he calls him.
No FIL, but I generally don't "call" her anything because I don't need to- I just have a conversation with her without addressing her by name first. However, whenever I've left messages on her answering machine, I've said, "Hey Mrs. B!" Not her full last name, literally, Mrs. B. And when I am talking to SIL about her, we do refer to her by her first name. So... consider me a special snowflake!
Re: In-Laws - A Clicky Poll!!
i don't even call them by their first names, i call them Mr. & Mrs. "" most of the time.
now because of DD i call them grandma and grandpa in front of her. even though FIL still doesn't acknowledge her existence.
I find this whole response sad.
Do you not like them? Or do they not like you? Or is it mutual?
I call my ILs Mom and Juan. (He's my DH's stepdad so I don't feel right calling him "Dad" when DH doesn't)
No WAY! They're not my parents and I would not feel comfortable calling them that. Ick.
Neither do I expect my husband to call my parents "mom" and "dad" - and he doesn't.

Wow......i think I could have written this!!
I call my MIL mom every so often, but her husband, my step-FIL, is only 4 years older than DH and I...it'd be weird calling him dad...
DH and I both call our in laws by their first names, and we both have pretty darn good relationships with our respective in laws.
None of the other daughter or son-in-laws in DH's family call his parents mom or dad, so it never occurred to me to!

completely agree!
This exactly. When Audrey's around, though, we call them Nanny, Papa, and Gramma (MIL).
