I watch Sesame Street on PBS but I do see some of the "shorts" that are quite old. I figure, if it isn't broken, don't fix it. The messages are basically universal and timeless so why spend money on revamping it when kids don't pick up on "dated-ness". KWIM?
I watch them on PBS and they have played the same 5 or 6 episodes FOREVER. We need some new ones!! I'm sick of the Planet G, Wild Life Guy, the letter Y and the knights, etc.
My Comcast guide says they're from 2003. I think some of the stuff from that era, especially the "Journey to Ernie" segments, which look like the writers wrote them on acid, are hilarious. I am definitely looking forward to the new season on PBS. I often wonder if the repetition bothers DD but she doesn't seem to care.

I believe the ones on Sprout are really old, like before 2000 old. The ones on PBS are from this season but they show the same 10 or 15 episodes over and over and over and over and over again.
