Plus Size Ladies!! :)

Hey Ladies!!

Wow, it seems that time is going by so fast... or is it? Haha some days it seems fast, some days it seems slow. I think it might have alot to do with everything I have been through (2 losses.)

My question is mainly for any of the plus size ladies out there... Any of you "showing" yet? I am a regular size 22 and just curious. I currently feel like a large bloated blob (which I am fine with to a point) but just curious if anyone out there is in the same position as me?

Same thing goes for feelings of movement? Any of those coming your way?

Re: Plus Size Ladies!! :)

  • I guess I'm between a 16/18 and no bump yet.  I wish I did!  I see the cute skinny minnies and their bumps and am so jealous.  I swear I look 7 months but it's just blubber Wink No flutters but I'm only about 13 weeks so that's normal.  I haven't gained any weight either, I've lost 5lbs, not that you could tell, but everything is going fine.  I can't wait to feel movement though!

  • I just asked this on 2nd tri.... I am not showing yet, just feeling extra huge (although I have lost 4 lbs.) My mom and dh also say I look no different (other than huge boobs). I *thought* I felt my first quickening movement on Sunday after laying down and eating a huge meal, but I am not sure. My midwife said I probably wouldnt start showing until around 20+ weeks, nor would I feel movement until then. I am also a size 22.

  • I'm a 12/14 and 14 weeks. I can def see a belly but I doubt anyone else can. I carry all my weight in my butt and thighs with a (used to be small waist). Although my belly looks big to me I'm sure those who dont know me think it just matches my fat a$$.

  • I'm a 16/18. I was dx with hypothyroid, and really packed on the pounds! However since becoming pregger, I've lost 8 pounds! The top part of my stomach has a poooch, and although I wish I 'looked' prego, I really just look bigger! I swear the baby was ticked at me last night because I kept getting up to go to the bathroom, and at 4 am I felt alot of fluttering (but you know what they say....it's probably just gas) Stick out tongue
  • I am also a 22 and I am not showing at all.  I have to un button the top button on my jean shorts but I can still wear them, and my work pants are just fine.  I figure it will be a while before I am showing (just about 16 weeks now).  I am also struggling to find maternity clothes so I am not sure what I am going to do or if I will just go to LB or Avenue or FB and get bigger sized clothes instead.
  • Hey thanks SarahP! Your post had alot of responses :)

     Made my day.

  • I was a sz. 20 to start with.  My pants don't fit.  My belly is starting to look pregnant, especially in some clothes more than others.  And I do feel movement once in awhile, but this is baby # 3 for me, so I know what I'm "looking" for.  I can't wait to look pregnant though.  It's the one time in your life when you are fat, but it's ok.  Anyone start to buy maternity clothes?  I want some cute new clothes, but I don't like motherhood.  Kind of disappointed that Lane Bryant got rid of their maternity line.
  • I responded the the thread on 2nd tri and posted my 16 week pic that I took today. I was 14/16 PP and I am reallllly showing now.

  • I am 14/16 and basically the baby has pushed my fat out for the world to watch jiggle. Ugh. Can't wait to look pg and not like I was in college drinking too much beer! I have bought some maternity clothes at Target they do have some larger sizes I believe in the maternity section. I bought the capris in a sixteen hoping I could wear them longer but they pretty much stretch out during the day and are sagging. Sigh. Can't win! I actually feel the need to tell ppl I am pregnant b/c I feel like I just look fat. Then they touch your tummy and it is like ewww don't it's squishy on top. It is quite hard underneath- almost like I have been doing crunches- ha! No way!
  • I look a lot further along than I am.  For some reason the top of my belly is hard, but the bottom is still pretty flabby.  There's no hiding that I'm pregnant, but some clothes make me look more so than others.  This is my second, though.

I've felt some movement here and there.  I can't wait until it's more consistent.  I love the little kicks!  With DD I had an anterior placenta.  That plus being overweight equaled me not feeling anything until about 23 weeks.  My placenta is on the back of my uterus this time, so I'm excited to feel a lot more with this LO!

  • Yeah, I guess this being my first... and not being the "normal" size...

I don't know what to feel, or where to feel it...

Or where I would even start looking for a bump Indifferent

My tummy is fairly large so it's frustrating at times!

  • Im a 18/20 and I can tell its gotten bigger.  My tummy used to be small then my chest now its bigger then my chest.  My chest has also gone up a size aswell.   A friend also told me yesterday she can tell my belly has gotten more round.

  • I bought some stuff really early on.  My pre-preg clothes still fit but wearing the jeans "felt" tighter even though they weren't.  My skin is just more sensitive and I thought it made me feel like I had to pee more.  I bought from Old Navy online.
  • I was a 16/18 pre-pregnancy. I think I'm starting to show & almost exclusively in maternity clothes since wk15. I've gotten some from Motherhood & JCPenny (for work) and Old Navy (for some more casual things). I think I just look fatter, but when I mentioned this to Hubby, he quickly corrected me and said that he could tell it was rounder and looked pregnant.
  • I have lost about 3 pounds, but my pants are definitely tight.  I switched to my fat day pants a long time ago, and they are starting to get tight too.  I wouldn't say I have a bump.  I wear a 20-22, and I think baby is still trying to push its way through the fat.
  • I am a 14 regularly and I am short waisted so most of my weight is in my tummy. I have only gained about 4-5lbs but where my spare tire used to be has expanded a lot. I like to stick to maternity clothes otherwise I just look fat. At least if it's empire waist, someone will think I am PG.

**I posted this before but it's worth mentioning again, I have had a lot of luck on JJill and their plus sizes. Their stuff can be expensive but it's all long, most empire waisted and such comfy good material.  I just bought a cute sweater on sale for $40 https://www.jjill.com/jjillonline/product/itempage.aspx?item=IJ007I&h=W&sk=W

I got it in 2x in anticipation for the Fall and how big I'll be. Old Navy is also another Fav of mine.

I also have been getting my underwear @ Lane Bryant for the last 2 years, I love their cotton bikinis and I just got a few in the size up from the size I normally wear and they have been working great so far.

I'm a size 20 and I have a very long torso.  So no baby bump for me yet :(  I've noticied the top of my stomach being more hard than normal but it's blubber from there down!  I'm starting to be able to feel my uterus though right above my pelvic bone.  I want a bump so people can quit thinking I'm just getting fatter!  I've only gained 4 pounds so far.  As far as the maternity clothes you can check out Motherhood Materinity.  They have a large section of plus size clothes online and a small section in their store.

  • I'm 5'9, in a size 18/20, short torso with the dreaded B-Belly (Goodness! I sound like a hot mess!).. It's big and hard on the top and smaller and flabby on the bottom. People have started asking if I'm pregnant and when I tell them yes they rub the top of my belly. I'm like "That's My Fat Fool!". I don't know if I'm bigger or if I'm just no longer sucking it in... LOL!
