I send 3 bottles with my daughter while I am at work but pump twice.  I pump at 10:30 and 2:30.  We are not doing solids yet even though pedi said we could start now.

  • My DD is almost 8 months old and I still pump 2x a day at work and send 3 5oz bottles to the sitters with her. I feed her once in the morning, pump about an hour after getting to work, and hour or two before I leave work and then feed her at bedtime too. I've been back to work almost 5 months and when I first came back I was pumping 3x a day and sending 4 5oz bottles. She eats 3 meals a day... I don't see her dropping another bottle until she is regularly eating table food...and she still is gagging on pieces of table food so I don't see that in our near future either.

  • It depends on your supply - I've always had to pump for at least as many bottles as I was away from DS, so 3-4.

  • I pump before i leave for work, then 3 times at work.
  • We just introduced cereal last week but I'm still pumping 3 times a day at work.  DD's intake during the day hasn't changed since we're only doing one evening cereal feeding.  I normally pump at 9, noon and 3.
  • I work 12 hour shifts, so I pump 4 times during my day. We aren't doing solids yet either. I EBF twins, so I really have a hard time getting ahead and I need to pump to replace every feed during the day.

This exactly... Except sometimes I have to pump on my way home if I don't get enough milk from the work sessions.

  • I'm the exception, I only get to pump once at work, during my lunch break.  I work in a cubicle and do not have an option of pumping any other times.  I exclusively pump now since it's just easier for me and I pump every 5-6 hours for 20-30 min each and I have no issue with supply, in fact I end up freezing at least ten 5 oz bags of milk each week.  We just started cereal this week and he is only getting very minimal and he's still taking his 5 oz at a meal.    I feed the cereal during the early evening hours when he cluster feeds and I haven't noticed a difference in how much he eats nor the length of his sleep.  He's still up every 2-3 hours.

I knew before going back to work that I could only pump during my 30 minute lunch.  We don't get any breaks besides that since they pay us for our lunch.  They use to work 8 1/2 hour days with a 1/2 unpaid lunch and two paid 15 min. breaks, but no one wanted to stay the extra 30 minutes so they decided company wide to cut the 15 minute breaks and opt for the paid lunch.

Sorry no paragraphs, bumping from my phone.
