We had to get rid of ours because each time we tried to clean the couch, it would get more and more disgusting. We got a cloth couch, I can use the carpet cleaner on it, and it's good to go.
We have a light tan microfiber couch. I've cleaned it 2 ways. 1 is with a fabric cleaner that we bought when we bought the couch. The other way is I have a steam vac and I just put HOT water in it and used the handheld attachment and got everywhere I could with it. I let it dry overnight and by morning it was practically good as new. It was a little stiff at first but we broke it back in.

I have a light tan microfiber couch as well. I have spot cleaned it with Dawn dishwashing liquid, Neutrogena body wash, and L.O.C. (Amway product). All of these get spots and stains out beautifully. I just use a dab on a washcloth or papertowel and work it into the area. I then go over the area again with another wet cloth to pick up the excess cleaner.

Sometimes baby wipes will work. For more set in stains, I mix a little Dawn dish soap with some water. Wipe it all down, sudsing the dirtier areas, then go over with a wet (just water) rag, and let it dry. I found that if I just spot cleaned, then there was a water spot. I try to do at least a cushion at a time.

we have a dark brown suede/microfiber couch. i was getting really frustrated because when i'd clean a spot or something, it would leave a ring and i'd have to sit there and try to blend it. the warranty guy came last week to stitch something that was coming undone, and to my surprise he told me i could wash the covers. i've always heard they'd shrink so i never did it. but i washed them zipped closed on gentle and line dried and they smelled awesome and looked brand new!

i've also taken a hand held shampooer to it
I've never even thought of washing them, I'll try this weekend!

i'm scared that we have a different material and yours will shrink and it will be my fault, lol. if you're going to, maybe do 1 of them to make sure before you wash them all
we have a tan miocrofiber couch in our living room. we hardly ever sit on it but when it does get dirty I just use a fabric cleaner and a tooth brush to spot clean.

Did you put any kind of cleaner in the steam vac?
Nope just hot water.

We use baby wipes on ours. And if that doesn't work just a damp cloth with some detergent.
It's funny because one reason I LOVE our microfiber couch is because of how easy it is to clean. Guess it must depend on what kind of microfiber?
