At about week 3, I started feeling what I thought were menstral cramps. After my BFP the cramps continued, however are very dull and very inconsistent. When I called to make my appt with my doc, I told him this info and he wanted me to come in for an ultrasound. He didn't think it was anything serious as I am not bleeding and am not in severe pain.
Anyone else feeling "crampy"?

Cramping can be and a lot of time is completely normal. There's a lot going on in your uterus right now. The fact that you are not bleeding and it's not severe pain is a good thing. Hope your ultrasound is good news!
Try not to worry yourself too much, I know its hard. I had the same type of cramps from 3 wks to about 6wks with no bleeding. I asked my doctor and she said they are perfectly normal unless you have bleeding also.
Try laying flat on your back when they happen, it helped me with the pain. Good luck, I hope everything goes well for you!
DH (ok- and me too) panicked a bit when I had this going on from about 4 weeks until late in my 6th week so at my nurse consultation I asked yesterday.
She told me that cramping is normal throughout pregnancy as long as it is not doubling you over. I asked about the fact that mine was most often on the left side but sometimes on both. I was told mild aches on both sides is likely round ligament pain from the uterus expanding while the one sided ache was likely the corpus luteal cyst that is maintaining progesterone until the placenta takes over. The corpus luteal cyst is felt on the side that you likely ovulated from.
This information calmed me down making me realize that everything was actually progressing normally. Hopefully it can do the same for you!
OP, thanks for posting this because I was starting to feel the same way and was on my way over here to post this same question so thanks!
That really helped me a lot and helped put my mind at ease. I knew that no bleeding was a good thing and that cramps are normal but reading it just helps make a difference.
No need to panic. Most women get early-pg cramping - it's the baby getting comfy and the uterus stretching. I've had 'em on and off all day, every day for the last two weeks. I saw my doc today and he was not a bit worried. He told me it was way normal, didn't do an US, and said call me if you bleed.
Be at ease, my dear!
I was panicked too. I'm still having mild cramping - sometimes not-so-mild, but still not what I would call severe. I wrote to my midwife about it and here's what she told me:
"The breast tenderness usually passes by the 8th week & the "cramping" you have experienced is most likely round ligament pain which will also pass soon. It has to do with the growing uterus. It is probably what you had last night on the one side, it tends to be one side or the other because as the uterus grows it shifts sorta & gets kinda lopsided so sometimes one side will be higher than the other & it pulls more on one side than the other"
There are a lot of us in the same boat! I think it must be really normal and common, but it doesn't get a lot of attention under the famous lists of pregnancy symptoms, so we get nervous. I've had a m/c before, so I was super concerned, but everyone's sayin' it's normal, so I'm feeling at ease now. Hope you are too!
