Gift for 2 year old?

DS and I are invited to a 2nd b-day party. Any ideas for a gift for a two year old?

  • Lots :)  Not knowing the child's level or interests ect. here are some that come to mind quickly:

    * Art stuff (finger paints, wonder paints/paper, the new ones you use water with to make the color appear, big crayons, washable markers, washable stamp pads & stamps)

    * Playdough & cookie cutters

    * Pretend play - dolls, accessories (bottles/clothes/pets/whatever), vet set, dress up, play food, etc.

    * Cuttable fruits & veggies sets

    * Blocks/bigger leggo type blocks

    * puzzles

    * early games (there are some by Hasbro I believe that are for 2 - 4 year olds)

    * bubbles/water balls/sidewalk chalk/seasonal stuff

    * Matching puzzle type games/learning sets (put the opposites together, etc.)

    * Cars/trucks/etc.

    * Little play sets (person & car or couple animals, etc)

    * books - (my first seek & find, texture or sound books are normally big hits)

    HTH!

  • Is it for a boy or girl? Art supplies maybe? Paper, paint, crayons, marker, etc. Or easy board games like Memory, Candyland, Gator Golf, etc.
  • Thanks Ladies! It's for a boy.

    When my friend's DD turned 2 we got her sticker books, coloring books and crayons.  She loved them!
    Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • Pretend play is really going to blossom soon in a two year old.  I would suggest kitchen or kitchen-like things, a grocery cart or stroller (all kid-sized of course)

    Puzzles are also enthralling at that age.
