Off Days at Home Vs. Work

When you have an OFF DAY at home being a SAHM it seems to affect me more than it would if I had an OFF DAY at work.  I loved my office job, and it was extremley challanging at times...sometimes I even miss those types of challanges.

Why do the off days at home affect me more? Does anyone else find this to be true?

Lastly, is anyone else having Nest/Bump Issues?

  • that is easy.

off days at 'work' you can say F THIS - on your lunch break- go and get a large milkshake and get a pedicure. You come back with a least a shimmer of I can make it until 5pm without ripping someone's head off.

Off days at 'work' (being a SAHM) well--- you have to be a tad more creative to allow yourself a mental break so you don't flip out on your DH/children.

    tons of bump issues.

  • When I have "off" days being a SAHM (and I have a lot of them!) I feel like a bad wife & mother and I feel like I'm the only mom who can't get everything done. For me it's much harder feeling that I'm letting my kids and husband down than my boss. My logical side knows that my kids and husband don't care if the laundry didn't get done or if the house isn't prefect but I put that pressure on myself and compare myself to other mom's I know, that's something I'm really trying to work on!

This is pretty much how I feel too.  My DH travels 2-3 nights per week so there are times when it's just me and DD for days on end.  I guess it makes it a little easier because if I don't get it done today I have the option of doing it after DD goes to bed or the next day and no one really knows.  That being said I don't always get things done even then.  I really does make me feel like I'm not living up to my end of the deal.  I am a stay at home mom & wife so I feel like I should be able to do it all and I just can't seem to get there!
