Convertible Car Seats

Hi ladies,

So I posted this question on the Oregon board but only got a couple of responses so I was hoping I might get some more on this board. I need to get LO a convertible car seat and I need some recommendations. I know Britax is the best, but a little too spendy for me. I am looking for something $120 or under. What do you have and what do you like/dislike about your car seats? TIA!

Re: Convertible Car Seats

  • I have 2 of the Evenflo Syphony 65's. We really like them.  THe straps are easily adjustable, has a lot of cushion, the latch system and goes from 5lbs - 100 lbs.  BRU sends coupons for 20% off.  Usually those seats are $200 but they might be lower now.  I also heard someone on hear earlier say Target has them on Clerance. It's a new seat (just came out in the fall of last year) so I was suprised.  Maybe she meant another Evenflo seat??

  • We have the Evenflo Triumph. It runs at BRU around $140-150 but with a 20% off coupon it would be in your price range. It is easy to adjust and use and comfy for DD. Its RF to 35 lb and FF to 50 lbs. Britax isn't necessarily best. All seats have to meet the same safety standards. The best seats are ones that are properly used and installed. Britax has a lot of bells and whistles, but I don't feel like I'm missing anything with our Evenflo Triumph and it was a fraction of the price.

  • We have the Graco Nautilus from Walmart online, cheapest price compared to other stores, + free shipping. The reviews are awesome and my SIL has this seat and loves it too. Especially read one of the latest reviews from a mom. Her car was hit by a drunk driver (on childs side) going 70 MPH and the child was not hurt at all. The EMT's were amazed at how great the seat was.

Just to let you know, the Graco Nautilus cannot be rear-facing.
