In fact, I can't seem to get anywhere NEAR caught up. My house is a wreck, I'm still not unpacked from the move and I can't even get the dishwasher loaded or bottles made. Every day, I put them together one at a time, as I need them.
DS is napping ten minutes here, ten minutes there, it's 106 degrees, has been for the last week and will be for the forseeable future and all I feel like doing is sleeping and sleeping. And sleeping.
I really need to get this figured out before Baby #2 arrives and our whole world gets shaken off its' axis.
Re: Vent - I can't Seem to Get Caught Up
I know how you feel...sorry to hear he still isn't napping well. I hope things get better soon.
Can you refresh my memory about how DS sleeps at night. I just had a thought - do you consume ANY caffeine - and I mean any, a diet coke, coffee, enough in chocolate, etc.??
DD#1~8/17/96------DS~10/24/05
Thanks guys. Just needed to vent to someone other than MH.
DS sleeps well through the night, usually goes to bed at 7, up at 7:45 to eat more (not sure why he does this) and then typically sleeps until 5a.m. The last couple of nights, he's been pooping at midnight, though, so that's gotten him up and he's had trouble going to sleep afterwards. TMI, I know.
I do have caffeine. I completely avoided it in my first trimester, with DS, but this time I've been having 1 cup of coffee in the morning a can of soda in the afternoon.
We have Central A/C and I keep it at 72 degrees, around the clock, so I'm not sure why the heat is affecting me but it seems to be.
I had so much more energy in the first couple of months after DS was born than I have since this pregnancy, so I know it's just that 1ST Tri exhaustion but I'm just sick of living in a sty and I start to feel like I'm just being lazy, though I know I'm not normally this way.
Exactly... I'm drowning.
Ugh, I'm sure being pregnant adds the exhaustion level...I would advise though to stay away from soda. I find that drinking soda I will have a sugar rush and then a crash by the end of the day. I find when I need a pick-me-up around 4-ish I make a fresh pot of coffee...this helps me get through the remainder of the day.
{{HUGS}} Because all SAHMs have good days and bad (sucktacular) days.Hey! My LO would often wake up to eat a little more shorty after going to bed - I tried to feed him longer before bed & eventually it helped. Have you tried waiting to see if he will go back to sleep without feeding? Like maybe it is just a natural waking period for him? Or having DH comfort him first? The good news is it is early in the evening so probably not a big deal. Maybe he just needs one last "snack" ;o) As for the pooping at midnight - did you change his eating schedule? Wondering if feeding him a little earlier would help? Otherwise, I hope you can just get him changed quick & quiet and he learns to go back to sleep fast.
The reason I asked about the caffeine wasn't about the pregnancy (I told my OB he was my new favorite person when he okayed a Diet Coke a day in my 3rd tri! lol). I was wondering if it could be a contributing factor to Jackson's cat naps! I had 1 diet coke a day starting when DS was maybe 2 months old & DS would not nap. Like your son he would take 5 - 10 minute nap here or there and that was it. He was also having more fussiness. I had cut caffeine out for a few days and then had it again & realized there was a HUGE difference his fussy factor & nap lengths. I cut it out completely (Sad sad sad for a woman who got through grad school with caffeine flowing through my veins, and then to be denied it when I am most tired in life, *sigh*) - once it was out of our systems totally, we saw a huge improvement in DS's sleep and fussiness. It seems he is just super sensitive to it - even 1 hot chocolate or 1 diet coke out at a restaurant (when it is more ice than cola) and we would see the difference. So as hard as it was, I cut it out totally, and while I was tired the difference in DS was so worth it. Maybe that would help? I know it will be hard for you especially being so tired, but it might help in the sense that if Jackson is napping better you would get more "quiet" get things done or rest time.
Thought I would share my experience, researching it and talking to the pedi showed that some babies (and people) are just extra sensitive to caffeine and your posts lately made me think of that period of time with LO. GL!
