Met with our RE Friday to discuss next steps. If you don't remember/know my back story, we've had three losses, all chrom. related, but none of them the SAME chrom. problem . Bascially he said we have two options:
He presented both options with arguements for and against each (which I appreciate). We finally asked, "If I was your daughter, what would you tell me?" And he said, "IVF - no questions. You've been through enough! Just because we can't medically PROVE a chrom. problem doesn't mean it's not there."
So the big question mark is insurance. Since we can get pregnant, insurance may not want to cover IVF. And since all three losses were DIFFERENT chrom. issues, insurance may not pay for PGS. Because of course we should trust the medical wisdom of number crunchers over medical professionals.
We're checking my insurance on coverage but either way leaning pretty heavily towards IVF. This was not how I planned to spend my inheritance but I guess it's nice to know it's there if we need it.
Re: Back from IVF consult with RE: Update
I love you hon. I agree, I think you have all been through enough. I hope the insurance company doesn't have their heads up their asses.
::hugs::
That's nice you got pros and cons of each option. I'm praying your insurance will cover some of it!
I hope they offer you some coverage. I'd probably go for the IVF too now. You guys have been through so much. :::Big hugs:::
I'm glad your doctor gave you an honest answer...and I agree with him....you've been through enough.
I hope you can get insurance to cooperate. It sucks to have to play their games to get things like this covered.
Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle!

I am so glad that the RE gave you options and pros/cons. and knowing what they would personally recommend is huge.
I hope the insurance helps out. If not, remember there is some help with med costs available on the IF board (and here too depending on what you use). I know not much of a financial help in grand scheme of IVF - but every little bit does help.
Oh honey. I'm so glad there's a plan, and there's someone who's there to help you move forward. I'm sorry you have to take these steps. But I'm excited for the possibilities for you!
I hope insurance comes through!
Best of luck and lots of prayers as you move forward.

I'm really glad your doctor was so straight with you on this. IVF is a big step, but if you feel like it will bring you more peace than the alternative (and obviously, a better chance at a healthy pregnancy), then it sounds like it's worth it.
I'll be praying for you guys to make the decision that works best for you--and for the IVF route to be as painless/easy as possible if that's what you choose.
