the phone calls from everyone- Aunt, friends, etc. Asking "so have you dropped?- are you dilated? How do you feel?" One person asked "is the baby in the birth canal?" WTF do you say to that? Hmmm. you want to take a look??
I'm not answering my phone unless it is a VIP- which pretty much means- mom, sis, and dad- of course DH too when he is at work.
Am I being a b^tch?
Re: It's starting... (not labor)
I wouldn't think so. I'd totally screen calls if I were you.
I can't believe that people actually do that. I had a friend who gave birth last summer. When her due date was about a month past and I hadn't heard anything, I googled her and found her FB page (I wasn't on there yet) where I found her profile pic that showed the new baby. It would NEVER have occurred to me to call her, especially in the week or two leading up to the due date, and ask if she almost ready to or had given birth yet. Of course, the more I think of it, I could see DH's family doing that, but hopefully, he'll be the one they pester and not me. :-)
I be screening calls for SURE. You are not being bitchy at all. Your post reminded me-- I'll be using my twitter when I get that far and just refer everyone to that feed!
And seriously--- WHO ASKS those types of questions?!?!?
Harper Oksana, born on her due date, January 20, 2011, and the love of my life
I think you totally have the right to be irritated. People are so funny with childbirth, all of a sudden they seem to think it's meant to be a spectator sport with play-by-play commentary.
I'm thinking I may put a message on my voicemail so that if I don't answer, they'll know it's not because I'm in labor, it's because I don't want to answer the phone and answer the labor questions. lol

EXACTLY!!!
No but if I was getting those calls, I would change my voicemail to say if you are calling to ask about the baby/labor progress, you have now been moved to the last in the line of people I call. Or just post on FB, I'm not in labor and I don't want any questions about when I'm going into labor or if I'm progressing, that falls under none of your business!
