Formula ?

Do you re-use formula if LO doesnt finish it all or toss it? ie... put in fridge!!

Do you warm formula after its been in fridge?

  • If it's in a bottle that he's had some of and doesn't finish I toss it.  That's what's recommended. 

    If you buy the liquid formula, you can divide it out and refrigerate the unused portion for up to 48 hours once the can is opened.

  • If its in a bottle and he doesn't finish it within the hour I toss it.  If it's leftover from the can I refrigerate up to 48 hours as indicated on the package.  Once its been refrigerated I heat it before giving to LO.

    This.  Except if I've premade the bottles and refridgerated them, they are only good for 24 hours, according to the formula box

  • I asked about that in the hospital and they told me that it should be used within the hour.

    I heat the water then I add the formula and if my LO doesn't finish I leave it out for an hour just in case then I toss it.

  • The carton says that you must use the unused formula within an hour. If it's not all used by then, throw it out.
