cramps ??

I will be 35 weeks on Wed. Haven't lost my MP, no leaking of fluid, no bloody show but I've been having bad cramps like period cramps and tightening in my stomach for the past 4 days. My back hurts too but it's not a constant pain in my back. Could this be BH? I have a Dr. Apt tomorrow morning just wanted to see if anyone else had this. There is no pattern or way to time it because its just a constant cramp that gets worse and then lightens up a little bit but is always there and my stomach is always rock hard.

I've been having similar symptoms since 33 weeks. My doctor checked me at 34 weeks and I was 1 cm dilated and 20% effaced. Have a doc appt on Wednesday so we'll see if I've made any more progress (I'll be 36 weeks 4 days). Make sure to keep an eye on your pains, though. If they become regular or more intense, call your doc to make sure it's nothing to worry about.

Semen and orgazam can cause bad cramps too (due to prostaglandin). Just keep an eye on frequency and length.

I had pretty much all those symptoms start around 36 weeks, and my doctor explained that it is just your body - specifically your uterus and your cervix starting to prepare itself for labor. He also said the cramping could mean I had started to dialate (and sure enough at my 38w appointment I was at 2cm).

I think it's good you have the appointment in the AM just to make sure, but it sounds normal to me. Good luck to you and hope everything goes well with the doctor!

I had period-like cramps on Friday. I think it was because I worked a little too hard picking weeds and doing random yardwork (nesting!?) that afternoon.
