Anyone from the CD class remember how Natalie recommended cleaning out the dryer if you used to use dryer sheets? We stopped using them, but I don't want to risk it... what did she say to use?
Verifying is a problem, since Natalie is out of town until Monday... and the EFF board is not very helpful (yet). Dawn sounds right, though I'm a little worried since the FB website explicitly says not to use Dawn... but I suppose washing it down afterwards with a lot of water would help.
For now, I have them sitting in the sun, which is infinitely more environmentally friends, I suppose.
I'll bet it's in zazzu's notes! I also remember Natalie saying to clean it out with a little Dawn and then to wipe it down with plain water after that. My plan was to wash a bunch of blankets/sheets/towels and run them through the dryer after we clean it out with the Dawn, since I figure the towels especially will help rub off any residue. We will NOT be buying a new dryer LOL!
Well two people remembering is good verification. Good call on the blankets! Right now I have 9 covers, 18 inserts/boosters and 3 pockets lined up on my porch railing drying in the sun. I feel all crunchy inside.

I am feeling that way too, considering that today I started sewing wipes and made granola.

What are you using? Pure flannel, or flannel + terry? I'm considering it, especially since my flannel burp cloths and taggies turned out so darn cute.
I used flannel and terry. I figured the terry would give some extra texture for poo removal. I started out turning and topstitching them, but after about 5 of those, I'm just zigzag stitching the rest (in contrasting thread) and trimming as close to the stitching as possible. They're still pretty cute!
oh, and Jo-Ann had flannel on sale for 50% off - not sure if it was a monthly sale or a weekly one, but this week's Sunday paper has a whole slew of 40% off coupons if it's back to regular price.
I'd love to see what your burp cloths and taggies turned out like!
Re: CD - cleaning out dryer after dryer sheets
To strip build up from your diapers you use Dawn, so I bet it would work.
