while I play the waiting game for AF to show today or tomorrow, I've scheduled my HSG for next Friday. My neighbor said the pain was worse than childbirth....hoping that's not the case for me!

I really had no pain with my HSG at all. It's uncomfortable, but it's very quick. I took 3-4 advil about 1 hour before it and it definitely helped. I hope yours is quick and easy for you too. GL!

DEFINITELY take the Advil beforehand. I foolishly ignored the advice to do so, thinking it couldn't be worse than the med-induced cramps I had with my first m/c and I never took any painkillers for those. I took the Advil afterward and was fine within the hour, but well, let's it put this way....My mom has two bad knees from arthritis, and she was walking out of the hospital faster than I was after the procedure. Not trying to scare you, but you will definitely be happier if you drug up before hand! :-)

I've never had one, so I don't know.....but I think it's lame that anyone would even tell you the pain is worse than childbirth. What a rude thing for her to say.

If someone told me they were getting open heart surgery, I would never say to them, "awe dude, that hurts soooo bad"
