Would you go to this?

I've been invited to a bachelorette party that is all-you-can-eat sushi and all-you-can-drink beer and wine. They are also doing karaoke, which I love, but I'm not sure how much I'd enjoy it sober.

I don't know the bride very well, but I'm good friends with her fiance. What would you do? I'm thinking about ditching it and just going to her lingerie brunch shower.

    I would definitely go to something like that IF it were for a good friend of mine...but since it doesn't sound like that is the case, I would skip it and go to the brunch.

    I wouldn't go, if I didn't know her very well. Lingerie Brunch sounds like the option I would pick, while pregnant.

    I would go. Just cause you can't drink doesn't mean you wouldn't have a good time especially since the Karaoke would have me in stitches. Even if you don't know her that well, they must think highly of you to invite you.

    It's not just the drinking. I can't have the food either Sad She should end the night with a dip in a hot tub to complete the list of fun activities that I can't partake in. Smile

    I'd skip as well.  If it was a BFF or close family, I would suck it up and hope there was something a pregnant lady could eat/drink, but we would have to be super close to begin with.  If the lingerie shower is separate, that should be good enough.

    I would probably just go to the brunch, But if you feel up to it and love kareokee then go to both. Just because you are pregnant doesn't mean you can't have fun.

    Thanks guys for enabling me Wink I think I'm just going to suck it up though. I looked at the website, and it looks like I'll be able to eat just about everything on the party menu anyway. Plus, I really should make an effort to get to know the bride a bit better since my DH is really close to her fiance.

    Well, if you *are* deciding to go, I've found that being the one sober one in those bunches means that I become the designated photographer!  It's a good role for me at parties as I'm a bit shy (although throw a karaoke machine in there & that's a different story).  People really appreciate the photos, too, because most of the time no one remembers to take any after the first hour.

    Have fun! (Even if it's staying home after all!)
