My brother and SIL have a little boy that is 2.5 months (will be 3 months on Friday). SIL posted pictures on FaceBook of the baby, and there were a bunch with him in a highchair and holding a spoon. The caption on one of the pictures said "LO LOVES his applesauce!". I looked closer, and there is definitely applesauce on his hand and chin! This is their 3rd child, so it's not like they didn't know to wait on solids, they are just complete idiots! I seriously cannot believe that they would give a 2 month old solids!!
Re: Giving 2 month old solid foods
I'm with you guys. I have a friend as well on facebook posting pictures of her four month old with ceral and jar food. He just learned to keep his head up and you are feeding him solids.
On a side note, she is the same friend that has her child in a pool at 3 months. Call me crazy, but I wouldn't want my little one getting chlorine on their skin and in their mouths.
i couldnt imagine either. there are like 7 women in the office that i work at and they all have kids. they said "those pedi's are out to scare you and make you hold back from doing things, but when youre on your second or third child you just stop caring." they said "you wont care whether the bottle has been out longer than an hour, you wont care about using water from the faucet, and you will start giving them mashed potatoes when they are 2 months."
i was mortified.
I took my LO in my chlorine pool when she was 4 weeks old. I was more worried about sun exposure than the chlorine!
There's a difference between being more relaxed with 2+ and being a complete idiot.
I'm on my 2nd and I 100% care about all of that stuff! I won't endanger my child or make her sick by giving her old formula or solids at 2 months old!
Sheesh!
