What kind of family are you?

A Huggies family? Pampers? Other? We are a Huggies family. I rec'd every brand/kind of diapers and wipes for my baby showers so I have tried most of them, and we just seem to like Huggies the best. Also, (assuming your brand has rewards pts) what's the best thing you have redeemed from your pts? I'm still working on racking mine up! :)

Re: What kind of family are you?

  • Not that I've ever defined my family by our diaper brand...

We get Sam's Club brand in bulk.  I did Pampers for a year when DC #1 was born before I realized it was way cheaper and just as effective to do store brand.  I did all the Pampers points back then and turned them all in for a vacation giveaway that I, needless to say, did not get.

  • Mine are only wearing diapers at nigh now but we have always used Luvs(still do for night time). I used Pampers swaddle me in newborn size then changed to Luvs at size 1.

I have used Pampers and like them but Luvs work just as well and are cheaper. Both of mine leak when they wear Huggies.

  • We are a pretty much what ever I have a coupon for family.  Either pampers or huggies, I hate luvs.

  • I won a free year of Huggies on their website so we were a Huggies family until they ran out. I liked them and never had a problem. Now I buy Huggies if I can get them super cheap. Otherwise, I buy Luvs or Target brand. The Target ones are the only diapers that get her through a nap right now without leaking.
  • Huggies mostly & Huggies overnights.  I've been known to get Costco's brand when there is a coupon and I just recently started using Target's brand (box #2) and I really like them so far.  My only complaint is the size isn't on the diaper and since I need 2 sizes it's a pain to remember which ones are 5s and which ones are 6s!!
  • We were a Pampers family but we have switched to Sams Club bulk until Pampers can gets their Dry Max issue under control. I am just not willing to risk burning DD's butt with Pampers.

Sams work just as well, we can get over 200 of them for about $24 and they don't have Elmo on them. I really dislike Elmo. I wish I could kick him like a soccer ball.

  • Pampers.  They are the only ones that fit DS properly without leaking so we carried them onto DD#2.  Then that dry-max crap started, DD got a rash, and we moved onto pull-up pants:)

  • We are a mostly cloth diapering family, with Huggies Pure & Natural when we're out and at night.

    I know nothing about points.

  • We used Pampers when DD was a newborn and unil she was about 4 months old overnight.  Then we switched to LIFE brand (Canadian generic brand) because they are (in my opinion!) the best overnight diapers in the whole world (and we tried them all)  Huggies didn't fit her very well, so we just always used Pampers and LIFE.

Now that we're going through potty training, we use Huggies Pull-Ups.  I have never redeemed any points for anything.

  • Right now a Cloth Diapering family.

  • i've tried almost every brand, and we are not a Huggies family only.  i hated Luvs the most!  but we only buy the little movers kind, i don't like the snug and dry.

  • Considering their only purpose is to collect sh*t, I just buy whatever is cheapest.

  • We've mostly done Pampers.  I have used Target brand or Luvs for stretches, but sales usually bring me back to Pampers, and then I remember how much better they work for DD.  We don't redeem for points; I didn't even know you could do that.

Next time around, I'm pretty sure I'll switch to cloth diapers.

  • The only diapers I'm particular about are overnight diapers.  For those I stick with Huggies Overnights.

For daytime use, I'll use anything I can get cheap on sale or with a coupon.  Huggies (Snug & Dry and Little Movers), Pampers (Baby Dry and Cruisers), Luvs, Up & Up, Fisher Price, Baby Basics.  I've used them all and haven't had trouble with any of them.

I collected enough Pampers points to get a cloth book for DD last year.  But since I'm not brand loyal, I don't know if I'll have enough Pampers points again to get anything else.  I also have some Huggies points; occasionally I'll use them to try an instant win game.  I don't think I'll accumulate enough to redeem them for a reward, either.

  • Yippie...we just became a diaper-free household! (#3 just potty trained!) But with my first son I would only use Pampers (it was the most expensive and so it must be "the best").... then I got a little wiser and realized that Huggies are a lot cheaper and personally, I like them better. They control leaks very well and a few years ago Pampers started making a new type of liner that always stuck to ds's butt and created diaper rash. Go Huggies!
  • I tried Huggies with Jordan when she was a baby and they leaked so badly that they turned me off to that diaper for good.  I tried Luvs with Ben and they kept breaking and the gel stuff would leak out and run down Ben's legs - gross.  I complained to the company and got my money back.

Other than the one (bad) experience w/ Luvs, Ben only wore Pampers diapers until about 9 months ago.  Several of the girls on the boards had raved about Target's diapers and while I initially had second thoughts about using 'generic' diapers, I bought a small pack and tried them.  IMO, they are just as absorbent as Baby Dry and they fit Ben so much better (more coverage in the hip area).  So, we switched to the Target brand and never looked back.  Even with sales and coupons on Pampers, the Target brand is still cheaper.  I only wish they sold them in the really big boxes, like you can buy @ BJ's.

the size of the Target diaper is located on the velcro tap on the left side.  I just figured this out about a month ago.

  • Huggies for DD#1 because they were cheap and at Costco.  For DD#2 we are doing cloth diapers without a laundry service.
  • DD1 only wore pampers, any other diapers would result in a leak.

DD2 wore huggies or store brand, but never pampers.
