My doctor told me that if I wanted to I could skip my white pills and immediately start a new pack...I think this makes you skip a period right? He said it might help with my endo. If I remember right you can only do this two or three months at a time right? Also if you have ever done it do you completely skip all bleeding or do you spot?
This intrigues me, since I have just always taken it normally. But AF is scheduled for this week and I am heading out of town on Friday for a family reunion on Saturday. It will be outside, which means hot, and there is going to be swimming and such, and I just don't feel like feeling like crap while there. My last active pill is today so I need to decide if I want to do it.
Re: Birth Control Pill question
Good to know. I think I'll try it this month just because of the trip. Thanks
I've done it as well and didn't experience any breakthrough bleeding at all. When I finished the active pills on the second pack, I got my period as normal on the 3 day w/ no extra side effects (that I noticed anyway). Same flow, same bloat, same cramping.
The most I've done it consecutively was twice, but I do it whenver the nonactive weeks coincide with anything big I have going on.
Since the 'period' you get on the pill is really just withdrawal bleeding, and the white pills are just placebos, there is nothing wrong with skipping them every now and then and going into the new pack. I'm not sure how many times you can do it, I'd ask your doc-but to be technical, since it isn't your real period you don't actually NEED it every month, ya know?
So I think it's sounds like a great idea so you enjoy that reunion
