Reflux Babies: Come In

Where and what do they sleep in?

Right now Hadley sleep in the Fisher Price Sleep-N-Play rocker, that is inclined.  When I go back to work (in 3 weeks), I'd like her to sleep in her crib, which I was going to get her used to for naps starting this week.  Anyway, I'm afraid for her to lay flat because she spits up a TON and I don't want her to choke.  I'm not sure how to keep her inclined in her crib and still be able to use my Angelcare Monitor (detects breathing and movement).  The sensor pad has to be flat between mattress and springs, so I can't elevate the actually mattress.  I've tried one of those inclined sleep things BUT it's barely inclined if you ask me.  Any suggestions???

Re: Reflux Babies: Come In

  • My baby is still at home.  The grandparents watch him two days a week, and we also have a nanny that watches him 2 to 3 days a week.  We have instructed them with the reflux to feed him at an angle, and then hold him upright or at an angle for at least 20 minutes after a feeding.  We also have a Baby Einstein bouncer that we have instruced them to put him in after a feeding.  But it seems like the grandparents and the nanny have spent a lot of time just holding the baby at an angle.  Kinda funny, my nanny put my baby in his carseat and stroller on Friday and wheeled him around the apartment --gotta love that --but it kept him at an incline.

  • My son is 6 weeks and has terrible reflux. He is sleeping in a nap nanny in his crib with our angel care monitor and it is working well.
  • I'm so glad you asked this because we are having the same issue.  She sleeps well at an incline but we are laying her flat due to the angelcare monitor.  I'm wondering how PP got it to work on the nap nanny??
  • We are using the angelcare monitor in the crib, but have the whole crib on an incline. In desperation one night we unscrewed two legs from an unused side table, and placed the legs under one end of the crib. It works so well at helping his reflux while keeping the monitor working, that we've left it as is.
  • Our LO has bad reflux.  She sleeps in her car seat at night and on an incline pad in her PNP or in her swing when it's not bedtime.  I also hold her upright for a min of 30 minutes after feedings and use a boppy at an incline to feed her on also.  All of this is helping her so much.
