L will nto drink from a sippy cup and I'm afraid she'll be the only kid in first grade drinking from a bottle. I have tried all sorts of sippy cups, different spouts, with handles & without, bottle-shaped & not, with the flow control valve and without. She just thinks they're toys and makes a big mess playing with them. When I force her to drink like a normal person (holding the cup for her) she looks at me like Im trying to poison her. It's just water, which she drinks like a champ out of a bottle.
DH says not to stress and that one day she will just get it, but this is getting ridiculous. Anyone else's LO act this way?
Re: What does my daughter have against sippy cups?
DD hates sippy cups because, even without the valve, the flow rate SUCKS.
We tried straws to see what she would do, and told her to suck like a bottle. She got it down fast. She only drinks from straws now.
Have you tried straw cups?
It took DD a while to figure out sippies because it was harder to suck on, and when she did she would get a big mouthful of water and choke. She's got it down now, but it took a while of getting used to (we've been offering sippies of water since 6 months).
