breathable bumper and cribwrap

I'm going with a pink breathable bumper and a natural colored cribwrap (https://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?BRN=1&sku=16895482&) as a teething guard b/c it seems like the plastic ones will not fit our crib. 

But, I was wondering when do you actually need to put these on?  I know most people usually set up the crib with everything that will eventually go in it and then take things away when the baby arrives, but I'd rather leave everything in their packages until I actually need to use them JIC I need to return or exchange them.  What would actually go in the crib when baby arrives (i.e. mattress with waterproof cover, fitted sheet, bedskirt, mobile)?

    mady always used a bumper. when i would take it down to wash it she would bump her head so we just kept it up until she went to a toddler bed. we plan to use the breathable bumper for evan, i saw it in the store the other day and i love how thin it is.

    we never used a bumper or a teething guard. Not all kids try to chew on thier cribs!

    We always used a bumper too. Nadia would roll around, bump her head & get arms stuck! Lol. Her crib does have a few teeth marks too- but it's not too noticeable. You really don't need much in the crib.

    LOL!  That's true, but unfortunately, we noticed that the wood on our crib scratches easily even with just regular use.

    oh we used a teething guard too! but i didnt put them up until mady could pull herself up in her crib...she was a crib muncher!

    I used the breathable bumper for Graciela until recently.  I think I didn't learn of them until after she had started sticking her legs through the open slats several times.  I hated that.
