Melting Pot Question if you've been there: (editted)

If you've been to the melting pot before, please answer these questions:

1. does 1 cheese fondue really feed 2 people?
2. when they say "an extra $7 each additional person", do you get more cheese and dippers for each person?
3. each entree: how many people does it/could it feed?
4. what's the difference in size between the small and large dessert fondues?
5. How is the restaurant when groups go in and split fondues amongst the entire group?

I should add we are thinking it will be 5 people going for an intimate bachelorette party (splitting up from a larger group after the spa).  We'd like to keep cost down if possible.

Re: Melting Pot Question if you've been there: (editted)

  • i've been twice and went with dh and 2 other people both times (so 4) - we all got the big night out both times which just made things easier - it's 4 courses for 2 people.  that said, we had to share cheese and cooking broth (so one of each for the table).  we got to pick two diff chocolates to share and everyone chose their own salad.

not sure that helps you - but i'm jealous!!  i love going there but it's so spendy we never do

  • 1. Yep.

    2. I think you get a larger pot.  I know you get more dippers.  It's been a while since I've been there, though.

    3. We have always split an entree and had plenty of food.  Sometimes too much.  Particularly if you're getting the BNO/all the courses.

    4. I have no idea on this one - we always get the small.  By that point we're always like, "Baaaaaaaaah I.can't.eat.anymore.  But I also need chocolate."

    5. We've never had an issue doing this.  We've gone with up to four couples and everyone shares/samples.

Have fun!  Melting Pot is one of my most favorite places and the closest one to us is like, four hours away.  I miss it. :(  I would pour their Raspberry Black Walnut Vinaigrette dressing straight down my throat.  So good.

No idea, I'm too cheap to get real food there, we go for dessert for special occasions. The 2 person chocolate fondue is more than enough for DH and I and we LOVE chocolate.

    2. when they say "an extra $7 each additional person", do you get more cheese and dippers for each person?

    I've heard that you do.

    3. each entree: how many people does it/could it feed? They're really generous with their dessert fondues, so I think they'd be pretty generous with the entrees.

    4. what's the difference in size between the small and large dessert fondues?

The small can happily feed 3 people, I remember the large was ridiculous.

    5. How is the restaurant when groups go in and split fondues amongst the entire group? The biggest group I've went with was 3 or 4 and we had no problems but we went for dessert.

  • My rec is to go during happy hour if you are trying to save money.  $8 cheese and chocolate fondue and the drinks are about $5-6 and strong!  I used to love going there during my pre-baby days :)
