When DH dresses DS

Why am I even surprised that DS clearly doesn't match when DH dresses him? In fact, by looking at DS's outfit right now (we're going out, I'll be changing him in a minute), I'm surprised DH manages to dress himself in matching clothes. He's wearing brown/orange plaid shorts and a red shirt (which does have brown sleeves, but that doesn't mean it matches).

Re: When DH dresses DS

  • My DF is the same way. When it was that awkward winter-spring time earlier in the year, DF would always put short-sleeves on DS when it was too cold, and long-sleeves on when it was too hot... Anyone ever hear of a sweater?  =P

My son has a blue/black/white plaid overalls and one day my DF put that on him... with a terrible striped shirt... Yet, DF manages to dress  himself nicely every day...

    SIGH!! I feel your pain.

  • Yeah, I always get a good laugh when DH dresses DS. I usually say "Well, you look, um.... "cute!" He always picks the most random outfit combos. =)

  • My DH is the same way! I actually want him to take a color blind test because the colors are sometimes that bad!

  • My DH is the same way when he dresses DS or DD which doesn't happen often because he is so bad at it. However, he is not great at matching/getting himself dressed either. If it is not a shirt/tie combo he was worn before he always asks me if it matches and sometimes I wonder what he wore before we met. MIL doesn't always match either so who knows what DH wore as a child. Poor thing. :)

  • DH has no clue either.  I hang the shirt with the shorts on the hanger when I put them away.  DH just has to grab a hanger and not worry about putting a shirt with shorts.

  • DH dresses DD all week long since I am at work by the time she wakes up.  He usually does a pretty good job expect when it comes to separates.  I keep all of the pants/shorts/leggings in one bin and all of the tops/onesies in another bin.  He seems to think that anything in the bottoms bin is fair game and often puts DD in tight leggings with a onesie.  I also have to make sure I don't leave any clothes that are too small for DD in her closet otherwise those are fair game too.  DH thinks if it is in her closet that it must fit.  She couldn't possibly have grown out of it.

  • I put DS's clothes together in outfits when I put them away to avoid this problem.

  • DH dresses E in the mornings for daycare and 75% of the time when I pick her up I notice she is wearing pj pants or top. Not that it really matters since it is just daycare.

me too!!  If DH is going to get the kids dressed, I leave the outfits laid out with mathching socks.  Otherwise anything is fair game that he can find in the closet.  Even with me matching the things up when I put them away does not alway ensure the kids will be matching.

  • Hehe.. mine too. My DH dresses DD for daycare since I've already left for work by the time they get ready. But you can bet I lay out her clothes the night before. :-)
