Sommer- questions for you

Okay I'm not sure I'm correct, but did you take Clomid previously and it did not work? And then this pregnancy was due to a Clomid challenge? 

What is the difference? Can you tell me about the Clomid challenge? I took clomid and never Oed, but I was never monitored or given the trigger either...

    difference was dosing amount and timing in my opinion.

    No, this was not the Clomid Challenge (which is 100mg a day).

    I've been on a lot of Clomid and clomid like drugs for this entire treatment span. Never has anyone agreed to put me back on the 150 dose until I b!tched HARD to get them to agree to my protocol desires (150, CD3-7, trigger, b2b IUIs).

    Low and behold (imagine how pissed off my husband and I are), I got PG this time on the exact same protocol I did with Rhayna - both were on the 1st try of that protocol. GRRRRR but trying not to focus on that.

    Thanks for letting me know, I am contemplating either trying clomid on a monitored cycle or femara again. 

    With Clomid I did no monitoring and never got a positive opk or my period.

    With Femara on the non-monitored and non-triggered cycles I got a +OPK late sometimes and other times not at all.

    On monitored cycles the first I had 2 follies but crappy lining(5), the second I had 1 follie but crappy lining (5) and the third I had mid-cycle bledding due to not waiting long enough for provera to work and had 2 follies that never grew (shrunk and dissapeared) and since I took estrace and baby asprin I had a good lining (8).

    I thought maybe if I took provera and waited until I bled, then took Femara and estrace I may get good follies and good lining and be able to trigger and do IUI. I was also thinking though that I was never monitored on clomid so maybe I produced follies, just never released them? 

    What path do you think I should try?

    I have done all doses in the past of Clomid, starting at 50 and ending at 150.

    I am on 7.5mg of Femara.

    Clomid never worked for me for some reason.  It never did anything for my mom either.  It made me mad that they wanted to do the Clomid with my first two IUI's-

    I have no idea about Femera but whatever you do (if it were me), I'd demand an increase next time. They DO 200 mg Clomid but a lot of studies show that it works marginally better than the 150. And OU is right, it just is mediocure responder for some people.

    The goal, I'd suspect, would be to get more than 1 follicle. Are they also testing your Estrogen prior to triggering?

    Yes, the RE's goal is to try to get more then 1 follie, he is hoping to get 3 or so to consider it a good responce. I don't think I have had estrogen tested prior, but I do take estrace now with the Femara to build up my poor lining.
