We clap and say, "Yay" whenever Bug does something new or something cool. Yesterday & today she said, "Yaaaaaaa" when I clapped for her. This morning she did it 3 times in a row.
I know she can't really use it in a sentence, but it's sorta a word...right?!![]()
Re: Can "Yay!" be a first word?
All I have to say is "YAY!"
Yes, I think it is her first word! Congrats momma!!
Liam says "Mom-mom-mom-mom" over and over when he's tired/upset... This morning I gave him medicine and he said "Maaaaaaaaaaaammmmaaaammmmaaaa" bc he didn't want it... lol
I can't tell if he knows that "mom" is me?? He only does this for me though... dunno? Wishful thinking on my part! ha
DS goes, "UMMMMA UMMMMMA" when he's crying. I highly doubt he is saying mama, but I'll just pretend he is.
I always counted words when he seemed to understand what it meant and that they were actually saying it.
In your case, yes. She seems to understand what it means and when to say it. DS' first word was hi.
YES!!! This is our first word too. Cam says "hi" to everyone as we walk through the store. Usually, peoople answer him too...it is so cute!
