Hurt by ignorant comments once again
So I should probably post this on the adoption board, but you guys are still my girls. We were at SIL's for a bbq last night & the topic of adoption came up somehow. I said "we'd definitely consider it to have another baby" & both of my SIL's, BIL, & one other chimed in in a disgusted tone "I would NEVER adopt. Why in the world would you want to do that????" Granted one of them has 3 unplanned children & another isn't even thinking about kids yet.
But seriously! Really?

It's beyond rude - whether they have kids or not. Sorry you had to deal with that.

Um just WTF is WRONG WITH THEM??!
I want to hurt them. A lot. Especially considering DH and I will be looking into adoption if/when we decide we want a second baby.
I can't even think of a witty response, I am that angry.

And the one who has never had kids better realize "never say never." I was never going to have a miscarriage. GUESS WHAT?
I feel sorry for them. They don't know what real motherly love is. Real motherly love is realizing where the child grows physically doesn't matter one effing bit. Our miracles are going to grow in our hearts, and that is all that matters. Period.
It made really question their intelligence/compassion about life in general. There were some really horrible comments made a few months ago after a death in the family by the exact same people....along the lines that the sister of the deceased should "stop being such a baby & help out". God help them if they ever have to go through a real hardship in their lives.
Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle!

If you cant have any (or anymore) of your own why not.. that is just the rudest thing... some people do not think before they speak.
I wish you the best at adopting, my 2 brothers and 3 sisters were adopted (to keep a large family together) and DH & I are foster parents b.c we haven't been successful in having our own. I wouldn't trade it for the world.
