Sorry if you've already posted or discussed this but is Mady going to share a room with Evan? Dh wants Abraham to share a room with baby #2 regardless of it being a boy or girl. I'm not sure I like the idea but we may not have another option so I was just wondering if you found anything that is good for both of them. Again, IF you're doing this lol.
Re: Eve
*butting in*
i thought you mentioned you were putting them together (the bedding post) Are you pairing them up right away? Or is Evan going to be in your room for a bit? I want to move Abby in to Sarah's room at some point, I'm just afraid that Sarah will wake Abby up and Abby also won't deal with the change very well...
how are you prepping Mady for this??
they are going to be sharing a room. i live in a 2 bedroom so the end result is that they have to share a bedroom until we move. evan will take mady's crib (which has to be turned back into a crib from the toddler bed) and mady will get her own toddler bed (only reason she wont jump directly into a twin is because it doesnt fit in the room). as far as if i have found anything that fits both of them...i have, and i'm having a lot of fun decorating for both a girl and a boy under a budget.
my inspiration is this book: https://a1.vox.com/6a00b8ea0717f81bc000b8ea0723811bc0-500pi
i bought this tree decal, which i think is fitting for both of them: https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https://www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-thing%3F.out%3Djpg%26size%3Dl%26tid%3D8734710&imgrefurl=https://www.polyvore.com/birch_tree_bird_decal_set/thing%3Fid%3D8734710&usg=__ZVfGcGWUzwg0GfRtW4lzaoHggDc=&h=300&w=300&sz=25&hl=en&start=3&um=1&itbs=1&tbnid=GbEl-JKdPcqSHM:&tbnh=116&tbnw=116&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dtarget%2Btree%2Bdecal%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26rlz%3D1R2SKPB_enUS362%26tbs%3Disch:1
i found these frames (in navy blue and pink), which will hold my favorite pages of the book: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20117037
this is the saying that will go over the frames: https://cgi.ebay.com/Vinyl-lettering-DR-SEUSS-PERSONS-sticker-wall-word-/360269336991?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item92af0ff878
dh is going to build something like this to go next to the tree decal: https://www.etsy.com/listing/46380247/book-rack-holder-shelf-wall-mount-20?ref=sr_gallery_11&ga_search_query=wall+magazine+rack&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=&order=&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title
the bedding is this one (which i already ordered and i cant wait to see it):

i'm still working on the room and getting everything within budget...walls will be changed to a soft yellow, we bought some shelfs on sale the other day so each one can carry mementos of us when we were kids (for ex. evan's shelf will have dh's 1st baseball glove and mady's shelf will carry her 1st pair of converse). but anyways that's the idea...
pairing them right away as far as naptimes go. evan will stay in our room in mady's old bassinet until 3-4 months or so. but i want to get them used to each other during naps (even if mady only takes 1 three hour nap a day) just so they each get the idea. it's THEIR room so generally they're just going to have to get used to it. i'm not scared of one waking the other up if they're in the same room. i shared a room with my sister until i was 17 yrs old, i adapted well to change at an early age. some kids have no choice but to adapt to it...how about moms of twins...i doubt they will split their kids up in different rooms for fear of waking the other up lol
FYI - when we still didn't know the genders, I was already looking at nursery decor, and fell in love with PB's Jungle Friends. It is jungle theme, but very pastel-ly, and appropriate for both genders. Now that we know it is 2 boys, I think we are still goinb w/ the jungle theme, just w/ a bit more vibrant colors.
And as for splitting up the kids, like Eve said, most twins share rooms, even though most will prob be on a very similar schedule than a toddler and infant. I'm sure you can make it work if you had to!
And as for furniture in the room, personally, we are only going w/ 2 cribs and a dresser/chaning pad on top... and the rocker. A dresser does fit, but didn't want to overcrowd the room. I just need to maximize their closet. And since we already have Elfa in there, we can easily add more shelving and hanging bars... can't wait to get everything organized in there.
