Our family just got back from vacation in Galveston for an entire week. We had a great time, but I just wanted to vent about restaurants who say they're kid friendly, but then do not have a changing table/pull down thing in their restrooms.
We used Yelp to find our restaurants the two times we went out and each time the restaurant info said they're kid friendly and each time they didn't have facilities to change my ds (thank goodness dd is potty trained now). the food and service each time was great, but really....where are we supposed to change our little ones. both places there wasn't even a countertop, so i had to take him back to the car.
I just wish these places that are trying to be a kid friendly place would spend the extra and give us a place to change our kiddos, other than the disgusting floor. If you're going to have high chairs, chances are the kid sitting in that chair is still in diapers.
Not that i think my vent will change the world, but i feel better now
Re: "kid friendly" restaurant vent
BFP with no treatment!
Ditto to this too!!
Yep, I once stood watch outside an empty ladies room while a guy friend changed his son's diaper in there!
Yes! Even at our pediatrician's office in Houston, in the men's room outside in the hallway, there was no changing table. Seriously?
Nanner,
i got mae that same cute little dress while we were in galveston that your dd is wearing. your kids look adorable.
Thank you! I LOVE that dress. Well, I should say I loved it. My advice--air dry. It has already shrunk so much she can't wear it anymore.
in my neighborhood, a bunch of moms circulated a petition and got BErryhill to put in changing stations in both bathrooms. i'm sur ethey are glad they did because about 75% of their business is families.
there is another family friendly restaurant near me, chatter's, that doesn't have one and their bathrooms are HUGE. i just can't understand and have been jokingly thinking about starting a petition for their management...
anyway, point is i agree it's annoying!
