bf poop and pf folds

I have to admit that I'm fairly lazy when it comes to pf's (they are not my favorite at all, but just remembering the number of diapers per day needed forces me to buy pf's to use for a few months or I will be in the laundry room every 12 hours). Can I do just a tri folded pf and put it in the cover without a snappi? I have 2 flip covers, 2 BSWWs and a thirsties duo cover. I think all have the little pockets for stuffing. Do you think it will hold the bf poop in? I'm skeptical but would like to hear if anyone has experience. Thanks.

It didn't hold in the EBF poop for us. A snappi worked wonders. We tried just laying the pf in the cover for a day or 2 before I got online and ordered snappis - haven't looked back.

I've successfully contained EBF poo twice on a flat folded to the size of a tri-folded PF and laid in a cover - didn't even get the cover dirty.

However, this is not to be expected, but it is proof that if you're willing to take a gamble, it does in fact have a chance of working. I have 7 covers and a bunch of pockets & AIOs so I don't mind taking the risk.

That said, snappi is best, but you can use angel wing fold in a cover without a snappi and it's almost as good. I would highly recommend Thirsties covers if you're planning to not use a snappi, but they're worth the $3 in my opinion and the only reason I ever don't use them is when we're in between PF sizes or we're at home all day and I'm lazy and don't want to have to double up my smaller flats.

Snappis are a must. We do the angel wing fold with Snappis and the only time we've had blowouts is when DS decided he didn't want to poo for 2-3 days and then went all at once, and nothing could've held in that much, lol.

If we didn't secure with Snappis poo would be everywhere every time he went.

Ditto pp that angel fold and a snappi is the way to go. Jelly roll supposedly works too, but we just weren't into it for some reason.

Once your LO is reliably going once or twice a day, you can use newspaper fold or bikini twist (my favorite!) when you're pretty sure they will only pee. They are great, simple fold, but they will not hold poo.

I would never just trifold a pf - the cover wouldn't stand a chance against EBF poo. Even Snappi'd, pfs didn't always hold in the poo during the NB stage. We had the best luck with the jelly roll fold, but it was not by any means fool proof. I still like pfs, though - they wash really well and are cheap

We're on day two of using the jellyroll with PFs at home with a snappi and thirstie cover over it. We've yet to have any poop debacles. Granted, it's only been two days, but so far, so good!

Every time this question is asked I am the only one who had success with EBF poo contained with trifolding only... I hope you can have as much success as we did! Sooooo easy! Yes

If I tri-fold the cover is toast. I didn't want to buy may covers so we snappi. If you are willing to have many covers on hand, or your LO has slowed down on the # of dirties/day, then it might work.
