Medela pump n style spare tubing..

WTF can I purchase this?  I tried BRU and Target today.  No luck.

The tubing I have left over from ds is not working on the pump n style(not the brand new version) that I bought off CL.  The new tubing that the seller gave me doesn't work either.  It's like the end that is supposed to fit into the part that does the pumping(not the machine end) was cut off so the little plug part isn't there.  The plug on the old tubing I have fits into the pump end but, the end that is supposed to plug into the motor portion is not right.  If I could breed the two tubing types I'd have a perfect specimen.

Any ideas?

  • Have you tried contacting Medela? I had issues finding replacement tubing when I lived in Hawaii and they were great and sent some out to me for free!

  • Well, now I'm confused.  The pics on amazon look ecactly like what I have already but, the plain end doesn't stay on the hole on the pump.  It just slids right out.   Am I supposed to hold it in the hole or tape it?  That seems really wierd. WTH?

  • You should be able to push the tubing into the hole on the back of the shield and it stay in place.

Edit: I have both the single and the double, but usually only use my single. I just pulled out my double to see if I could help you figure this out. My double was given to me by my mother who used it on my little brother who just turned 9, so it is an older model as well. The tubing is different then pictured in the Amazon link I provided, so my best guess is that you have a model that is between your DS age and the model available now. On the motor where the breastshield connects to is where you will find the model number, I would call Medela and inquire as to which tubing is needed for the model you have. Amazon does have past models of PIS tubing so once you know which one you need check on there and see if they have it.

I found the tubing at a lactation/breast supply specialty store locally.  There was an issue.  Turns out medela used a couple different types of tubing for the PNS breastpumps.  And it matters which one you get.  So I had to bring the pump in with me and the lady working there helped me pick out the right tubes.  They were $10.  Good luck.

  • I got mine from the LC at the hospital I delivered at. I live about 15 minutes away so it was close by. And like PP said, there are two different kinds of tubing, one has "hard" ends on both ends, one just has it on the one end and then just the rubber tubing on the other end.
  • I figured it out!  The tubing I got from the CR seller was right.  It just seemed totally strange to me that one end would have a rubber piece.  Turns out the end with the rubber piece goes in the pump/shield end and the end that is just tubing fit over a thing on the machine not in a hole on the machine like it showed in the booklet that CAME WITH the pump.  The tubing I had wasn't what they were showing me in the book AT ALL.  Thnx for all your help.
