bedtime bottle and lack of milk

DS barely drinks 1-2 ozs throughout the day of milk in his sippy...right now I bank on the last bottle we have still going..his night bottle..he will drink 6-8 ozs. before bed. He has dinner at 530 then bed at 7...if i only give him a few sips of milk ( which is all he'll take) at dinner at 530 how will he ever last all night...did you find your LO woke up hungry? DS barely eats or drinks a lot during the day...how did the transition go if you have a "not big" eater?

Re: bedtime bottle and lack of milk

  • I'm still nursing at night about 45 minutes before she goes to bed, so I can't totally tell you what works! But my pedi told us we should do a "bedtime snack". So DD gets dinner at 6, a snack of oatmeal at 7, she nurses at 7:25, and then bed at 8. If your LO goes to bed at 7, I would maybe offer him a snack about 30 to 45 minutes before he goes down for the night.
